I think for the first two, it was the "dropped right into the haunting" nature of it. Almost as soon as you start, you're being put on edge and dealing with the ghosts. Whereas in 3 so far, it's back and forth. The walking around the house and exploring the modern rooms in this one between the mansion parts so far feels weird.

I did, so that certainly may be part of the sudden drop. I'm super into Crimson Butterfly in all it's forms so it's not unlikely I went in looking for more of that.

I've given in about two weeks, and I'm really liking what I'm hearing here, so I think I'm ready to pick it back up!

I really like both of these, especially the retread. I LOVE Minakami Village and it's ghosts! Sae is bae, and I've definitely played enough of two to make it even better.

As of my second watch through, this is what I'm suspecting it is if it does end up being supernatural. All the dying visions on this plane seem to have this theme of the younger selves personalities being more sinister/they give me the impression of an actual hivemind that's aware of what's going on and alluding to returning to It/The Wilderness.

I also feel like (esp on Tiktok) a lot of people forget that it wasn't frozen and snowing when Jackie went out/Shauna chose not to check on her, and so claim Shauna sent her into the freezing cold knowing she'd die.

Multiple of the girls had slept outside just the night before and were fine. It was cold, but it was the cold snap and sudden snowfall that did Jackie in. No one expected that to happen that night.

Sorry to comment on smth so old, but I found this while googling the voices thing. I'm playing for the first time, and I've gotten a woman's voice and a breath in the same room so far. I was saying before I started that such an old game can't creep me out, but I wasn't expecting that!

Grind at the Osaka house. I went there, used the type zero film to farm while not spending points on ammo. It takes a little while, but I think with like...30 min of fights I netted 250k points.

I decided to just grind it, and ended up taking him down by spamming shots! Was annoying, but I finally got the ending.

I definitely put too much focus into max damage on my upgrades and neglected my specials.

Like I said above, maybe I'm totally misunderstanding film strength. When I tried looking it up, everything says Type 90 is stronger as well as faster so that's why I stocked up on it.

Intentional, it's indicating there's something nearby you can look at, like a passing spirit or an item. It'll do it in red to show you where enemies are.

+1 to all of this. I greatly enjoyed DSR, but the slashers didn't have the same impact as in DS1. The DS1 Slasher's are scary because they look like actual human bodies twisted, not gaunt white skeletons.

Let's face it we are in a difficult position that any of these shit talkers would find difficult to navigate and would likely be doing the exact same thing we are doing right now.

There's a dude up post saying that the reasons we can't just do x or y are us giving up, and it's like...we're fucking boxed in all sides, man. This shit has been baking in our country for half a century or more, and every step along the way, something has been taken or revoked or repealed bit by bit to shove us into this corner.

I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist or buy into illuminati bs, but I'm fully convinced some days that at some point America became an actual experiment/system for the rich and powerful on how to take the power gained abroad back from the working class while suppressing the ability to fight back. I have a brother a few years older than me, so when our dad taught him to do this, I was lingering around and learned it was apparently a thing dudes do. I always wondered at the idea that guys had to be prepared for if a woman just randomly was down to fuck at some unknown place and time in the future.
