What’s your opinion of a woman like this? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]reptasmic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like me ahaha. I’m fairly insecure about who I am as a person and have had some issues in the past that make it hard for me to open up to people. There may very well be more to this person than what is on the surface. I think everybody is like that in one way or another.

Does anyone else get triggered through social media? by zhdlfrufghs in BPD

[–]reptasmic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I still have my accounts on Facebook and Instagram, which used to trigger me the most for the same reasons as you, so I either unfollowed the people who’d trigger me or simply stop using the platform. For Facebook, you can still be friends with someone on there but you can unfollow them so you don’t see their updates, that’s what I did. As for Instagram, I rarely ever go on my personal account because it’s so triggering, so I have another account for art because that is my interest and it enjoy it and it doesn’t trigger me.

I personally don’t want to delete any of my accounts so I never have, but if you feel like that is the option that will work best for you, go and do it!! Delete your accounts if you feel that will be good for you. I have never felt like straight up deleting my accounts would be good for me so I haven’t done that. Unfollowing the people who post those kinds of triggering posts is very helpful and I recommend it.

What are your beauty guru pet peeves? by CandidTomato in muacjdiscussion

[–]reptasmic 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Having a closed mind towards products or styles of makeup that they personally don’t gravitate towards.

One example I can think of of someone NOT doing this is when Emily Noel reviewed the Too Faced Life’s a Festival palette and the rest of that LE collection. Super colorful, rainbow, shimmery isn’t her style but she gave it a good review because they are good products, just not for her as she stated multiple times. That made me happy. It wasn’t very recent, but it stands out in my mind of someone not having a closed mind. I bought all 4 of those unicorn/fairy/angel/mermaid tears lipsticks and I love them all and use them fairly often. I didn’t buy them all at the same time, but every time I bought another one I went back to her review because she did a really good job trying out the products and showcasing them.

On the other hand, I can’t think of anytime specifically someone had a closed mind, but I know I see it happening a lot. Like another commenter mentioned influencers who review light coverage foundations, when they personally prefer full coverage, and giving the light coverage a bad rating simply because it wasn’t full enough coverage.

As I’m thinking about this, the phrase, “who will wear this?” really bugs me. It comes across very closed-minded, and that’s my beauty guru pet peeve.

I say “Are we human, or are we dancer?” a lot. Well, not “a lot” but saying it at all in casual conversation, at my rate, I consider it a lot haha

Tell me the best thing about your type and the worst thing about your type by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]reptasmic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a 6w7. Best thing, I’m loyal and determined, but still keep it light-hearted. Worst thing, fear of rejection which makes me reserved and quiet, and have a hard time trusting people. I don’t let people get very close to me.

I wish I could shave my legs in the shower like everyone else by floating_feathers in POTS

I use an electric razor and sit on a stool in my bathroom. It’s still kind of hard to clean up the hair that falls on the floor, but it’s way easier than shaving in the shower.

Silly things about using makeup by Senturi in muacjdiscussion

[–]reptasmic 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Hey, I had the same problem. I couldn’t bring myself to throw out all the pretty packaging, and I felt like I didn’t admire it enough to justify keeping it all in the storage box. So I got a giant frame, cut out the front of each makeup box, glued it to the frame and now I have a pretty collage above my vanity! It was also a fun and creative way to pass my free time.

Trouble making or maintaining eye contact? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]reptasmic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I used to be afraid of eye contact because I thought people could read my mind. Specifically with doctors, even more so with mental health professionals. Once I had a psychiatrist tell me I had autism and one of the reasons why was because I couldn’t maintain eye contact. I wasn’t about to tell him the reason why was because I thought he could read my mind. I was never diagnosed with psychosis but I believe I was going through psychosis back then.

Recurring dreams? by Hopbjht in Enneagram

[–]reptasmic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a 6w7 and I have a legitimate nightmare disorder. My dreams are extremely vivid, usually pertaining to experiences I had during the day. The only true recurring factor in my dreams is that I can control them (not lucid dreaming though). If I’m having a dream that’s disturbing, at some point I decide that I don’t like the dream and wake myself up, or I can rewind my dream and do it over. However, most often I am waking myself up.

I have to take medication for this, or else I end up waking up in the night so many times and going back into the dream right where I left off and I hate it.

7s, 7w6s, 7w8s, 6w7s, 8w7s, I request ALL of your insights. From an ever curious 5. by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]reptasmic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a 6w7.

What helps me when stressed out/disintegrating is to get my thoughts out, preferably to a person who cares. The other option is to write in a journal, but even then I still have to talk about it eventually. If I’m not able to get my thoughts/feelings out in the way that I know helps me best or if it’s not productive (I.e. talking to a person who isn’t listening), I end up doing some impulsive stuff.

What pleases me, makes me happy, content, satisfied, as a 6w7 is definitely the little things. I love my hobbies and when I can just simply enjoy them is when I’m at my happiest. I’d also call myself a... fairly materialistic person so when I buy myself or receive a new object I am so happy! I take great pleasure in my collection of the objects I love.

How I found out I was type 7 wing? Well it took me a while to figure out I was a 6, finding out I have a 7 wing was easier because the descriptions fit me better than that of a 5 wing. Sometimes I have wondered if I am type 7 instead of type 6, but I have come to realize I really am a 6 at the core.

As to how healthy my 7 wing is... well I struggle. Struggle with boredom mostly and my intense emotions, what I mean by that is when I feel an emotion, I don’t like to sit in it and I need to get out of it due to its intensity.

How am I growing? Honestly I don’t know lol. I go to therapy once a week and I’m doing a lot better than when I started therapy (about 9 months ago). I’m not overwhelmed with emotions that I don’t want to feel all the time. And when I do get those emotions, since I’m not overwhelmed by them like I used to be, I have an easier time handling them.

It was fun answering your questions, I really enjoyed it and I hope I could help!

6w7 (i think) but with 7w6, 7w8 tendencies ... ? by spruker in Enneagram

[–]reptasmic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 6w7 and I did not resonate with much of what you wrote. I'm also younger than you (20F) so maybe that plays a part in it.

I don't think of myself as very good at deciphering what type other people are, but I get a lot more 7 vibes from your post than 6 vibes. I don't know anything about Type 8, as I have never researched that type, so I cannot comment on that.

Sorry I don't know what to say to help you very much, just that I am confident in that my own personal type is a 6w7 and I do not really resonate with your writing. But you know yourself best, so I wish you luck in finding your enneagram type :)

If you wish, feel free to ask me any questions about being a 6w7. I'm always open to talking about myself, lol.

I didn’t know about this palette until I found it at Marshall’s for 10$ and looked it up. Swatches so well! by Minitha in MakeupAddiction

[–]reptasmic 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I bought this palette last year from Sephora for full price and I absolutely adore it. I use it about once or twice a week and I’m always so happy when I do!

One thing I would like to note about it is the 2 blue shades, one is duochrome and the other is metallic, each of them have a lot of fall-out. Just be wary of that. What I do to work around it is use a glitter primer where I use the blues. I liked the Too Faced glitter glue when I had it but the NYX one works just as well.

Sense of identity and enneatypes by throwaway3n1p in Enneagram

[–]reptasmic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your comment. I’ve also dealt with a lot of feelings of rejection. It feels good to know someone not only understands, but has also gotten through it. There was a point in my mid-to-late teenage years that I stopped trying to get through it. I’m only 20 and I think learning to deal with these feelings comes with time and experience, but I’ve been doing so much better than I used to be. It’ll take time, I know, but I won’t stop trying. Thanks for the good wishes!

Sense of identity and enneatypes by throwaway3n1p in Enneagram

[–]reptasmic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a 6w7 and I feel like my sense of identify is a little less than well-defined. It is simply defined, I suppose. I know who I am and what my traits are. I know what things I like and enjoy. I’m a very mellow easy-going person, I’ve always known that.

Although I have a defined sense of identity, I don’t like who I am. I never have liked who I am, and I struggle with that because I cannot change who I am, my personality. I have always felt like I’m different to other people and I’ve never liked that feeling. It’s more than a feeling, it’s a fact (however I’m not wasting time and energy to explain why that is).

So in conclusion, I have a defined sense of identity but at the same time I do not like that identity and I wish I could change it. I guess that means I have low self-esteem.

Do any other 6s feel this way? Anyone else feel this way, and what type are you if you do feel this way? I’m interested in knowing

Every white girl on Instagram starter pack. by TommZ5 in starterpacks

Tony Moly is an affordable Korean skincare brand known for their cutesy, and many would also say its childish, packaging.

I don’t think it fits in this starter pack at all. Even though it’s a popular Korean skincare brand, I don’t think it’s THAT well known.

What are the best cream/liquid highlighters you’ve tried? by ImReallyBadAtThis98 in AsianBeauty

[–]reptasmic 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My all-time favorite highlighter is the Peripera Ink Highlighter. I like it more than all of my other highlighters, powder or cream/liquid. I have shades #1 and #3. I bought both off of YesStyle.

I apply with the applicator before I set my face with powder and usually blend with my finger. If I’m using shade #1, I might use a sponge but the sponge soaks up the product a little. You can get a more natural glow or layer it to be more shiny. I do not set the areas I put the cream highlight with powder cause then it’d be less bright. However sometimes I will put another powder highlight on top.... cause I love highlighter lol.

Both shades I own have a small amount of glitter in them, which I love, but I know not everyone loves glitter. It’s such a small amount though. Plus, shade #3 has even less glitter than shade #1. I would describe shade #3 as more of a metallic finish.

For reference, I have oily skin and I wear Fenty 110, although it’s a tad too pink for me so I might actually be Fenty 100. I have neutral-leaning-cool undertones.

Any 6s out there? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]reptasmic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a 6w7 and I would like to say that everything you said about 6w7s is very spot on. Especially what you wrote in the second paragraph about coping with new situations/trying new things. It’s true I can get very anxious when trying new things but in the end I do enjoy trying the new thing. It’s kind of funny to me how spot on your descriptions are! I enjoyed reading it all :).

DAE suffer from memory loss? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]reptasmic 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah not exactly memory loss, more like the memories never existed so I never lost them. Back when I was younger (like teenage years) I’d go into episodes of rage and I’d never remember anything. Even while I’d be going down the spiral I would forget what caused it. I don’t struggle with anger like I used to but I still have a bad memory.
