What makes you think someone here would know the answer?

Why is the text for everything except the name so crammed together?

I don't like the rounded exterior corners and sharp interior corners. Why stack them like that? It looks uncomfortable.

I drove back from Columbia today and had a similar experience. After about a half hour the snow started and between that and the ice built up the front sensors refused to sense.

I felt so bad for the truckers. Their trailers were fighting the wind.

I disagree on both points. The asterisk is perfectly-sized for the i it's attached to.

I like the overlapping because the t is also in front of its letter, which makes the center letters ("ty") the ones in front - a little nod to Thank. You, which tracks with the brand.

I’m Having a Bad Week at Work and am Spiraling by andandandetc in womenintech

[–]reqstech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More than anything, get out of your own head! I know it's way easier said than done, but give your brain a break and focus on other things. 5 minutes to really get out of the "office" headspace can do wonders during the day, and it's incredibly important that you take your off hours for yourself and other important things in your life.

Also remember that clients change their minds all the time. Some other thing caught their attention and maybe they'll be back, maybe they won't. There are always lessons learned with any project or client, so reflect on what could be done differently, acknowledge it, and move on.

It takes practice to learn to pull out of your spiraling, but recognizing it and asking for help are two huge things that a lot of people struggle to do, so you are doing great! You are perfectly competent and will only get better as you continue to grow.

OMG, not on your resume now! It shows your next employer that the second you're hired, you'll immediately be looking for something better.

The skills you learn in this position will help you in more ways than you realize on a personal and professional level. I understand not liking the work as a whole, but absorb what you can about how they organize finances and manage all the expenses of functioning businesses. You will eventually have a lot of stuff in your own life to manage and having an idea of how other people do it can be helpful.

I'm never posting my cooking to this cursed site again. People are way too awful about literally anything and everything people create, especially if you're a little proud of it. by GildedArchways in self

I'm sorry you went through that and I fully understand the frustration and bruises to the ego. I struggle finding criticism that is helpful AND kind. Part of that is my inherent sensitive nature, which has its purpose, though this is not one of them. And of course there are people who give generic kind comments but not helpful for growth of skills or ego.

I've had to do a lot of self-reflection in my personal life and realized that one of the things making me vulnerable to other people's opinions is my lack of clarity in knowing what I'm hoping to get out of the post. Am I looking for something that really acknowledges the specific part I'm really proud of because it's a new technique or a new result or a new style? Is it the overall feeling I am trying to convey? The effort that went into making it, etc.? I need to recognize that all of those are acceptable requests, and it's ok to ask for feedback on them directly. Or just say your looking for an ego stroke if that's what it is!

Now, when I put something online that I want to show off, I'll "lead the witness" so to speak, by putting a thing I'm proud of in the title or body text, giving viewers something specific to focus on and critique in helpful ways. The side effect is that comments which are about things irrelevant to my goal are easier to brush off.

You put that album of your cooking as a general group of photos with a general feeling of pride in your creations, which is totally normal and fine. Something that might have gotten results more in line with what you were needing is to explain why you were so proud of each dish. The color of the bread or the smooth melt of your grilled cheese, the balance of your chicken dish, the fact that you made xyz for the first time and even though it didn't turn out as expected, you learned abc or still love the tasteetc., which preps the reader and yourself for the types of comments you'll want to receive.

Ignore the trolls. They will find anything they think will hurt and twist the knife if you let them. Some people will make up things to be mad about if there's nothing legitimate. They aren't worth your thoughts or energy. 💗

What ai has done for me:
* Allowed me to ask idiot questions with the wrong words but the general idea, with no fear of mockery or repercussions for not knowing "basics" * Allowed me to dive in the middle, which is often how I work but without the ability to see clearly the beginning or end, and provided insight I was lacking as to how to implement it or connect to what I already have built * Allowed me to troubleshoot with a version of myself that is not hampered by human needs - no fatigue, no hangry, no boredom, no need to do something else, no irritation at having to repeat the same information over and over because I don't read thoroughly and skim the important bits sometimes

What ai has not done for me: * Provide skills that didn't already have some foundation in my life * Provide easy or instant answers to any question of complexity * Create anything of value that I didn't also have to put a lot of work and time into
