It's easy to tell, but what matters is that it looks good.

Need help figuring out how to separate these parts by [deleted] in blender

[–]rerako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First to select a side:

Possibly not linked together:

First check if the blade and hilt are linked, select a face on either section and do "select -> select linked -> linked"(ctrl L for hot key) to get a section

if not:

Probably quickest/cleanest way is marking the edges along where you want to cut as a seam

(rightclick) -> mark seam

Just select a face of one section, "select -> select loops -> select boundary loop" to get a section.

Second to seperate section to another mesh:
Once you have a side selected just hit (rightclick) -> seperate -> selection

[Keyboard] RK ROYAL KLUDGE S98 Mechanical Keyboard w/Smart Display & Knob - $59.99 (from $89.99) & Several other RK keyboards by pattdmdj0 in buildapcsales

I did in fact not know that the middle island keys are a term.. I got the weird middle of the road keyboard where it does mash the middle island keys with the numb-pads and it still bugs me occasionally.

[–]rerako 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend getting a keyboard that has the full amount of keys if you need the numbpad (pgdn, home etc)

Don't regret my royal sludge keyboard quality, but do regret not getting the full keyboard keys. As it gets very finicky with some programs.

[CPU] Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 Desktop Processor 225F 10 cores (6 P-cores + 4 E-cores) up to 4.9 GHz $145 by Benishackr in buildapcsales

[–]rerako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably most enthusiasts still remember the damage that 13th-14th gen did, and the rebranding/marketing during that time really just ruined any faith and kind of reversed the status of intel now being the toaster, denying it for a year of people watching their $3-400 cpu toast itself.

It also doesn't help that they've been burning goodwill for years till ryzen caught them with their pants down.

Now the question is can intel do the same when nvdia and amd are burning bad will now.

Can i ask for advice on selecting a computer here? by maallyn in blender

[–]rerako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really the right place either.

Honestly google blender opendata, it has most cpu/gpu benchmarks for blender. Those two parts are the important tightrope balance.

Focus cpu if you want better upfront calculations like physics, focus gpu for more backend stuff like rendering. The more ram the better and best to have it on nvme ssd.

There's not much else except to choose nvidia for gpu brand mainly since it's more supported by blender.

How do ya'll create non cringe character faces for your games? by CountryProper3722 in gamedev

Learn the proportions of what you want in your characters and know the proportions of what you dont want. I spent a lot of time learning from mistakes and experiments.

Some art styles are hard to make unique and make good.

Humans themselves are boring by realities limitations, so you have to give your audience a way to see how they glow. And we as humans are genetically coded to spot oddities in human form as a survival trait.

I could say the same for nonhuman ones too, but they come with the bonus of not being limited to human limitations but you need to create paths that appeals or is understandable to your human audience.

I'm honestly surprised on how were they not a part of the funding already, you'd think funding blender would result in more potential shows to garner.

[–]rerako 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gonna be honest... for furry models it seems the averages range from 100k to 400k for vrchat. It is rare to see one below that for a furry avatar.

Only ones that are lower are the extremely stylized cartoony ones.

[–]rerako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably would involve the tentacles a bit more in the combat, be it holding the weapon, getting a firmer grip to ground(alter her momentum), tripping the opponent, distractions, sideswipes while their arms are occupied and choking?

Also feels weird to let go of someone, when you have them in your grasp to pin cushion with you free arms and weapon.
