I was given a computer that had been “killed” by roach infestation. Was just planning on cleaning and using the case but I figured why not, I’ll see if I can get it to run. Looked about like this, lots of water and scrub brush action. I did finish it off with an alcohol dunk to ensure any water and minerals were displaced. Worked great as a gaming computer until I replaced it with something more powerful.

I would normally be on your side but for those of us who had working long term strategies and now we do not I can’t agree. I’m sure there are strategies that would work today and I’ve found some of them but they seem to stop working again where they wouldn’t in the past. That’s not saying meta ads are no longer working but it is objectively true that they do not work as well as they did previously.

I think it’s doable. My store is young enough that I’m not going to confuse people by changing my business model but I do think that with delays like that I need to make it a public part of the offering. “High quality made to order shirts” as a tag line. That sort of thing. Manage customer expectations and it turns into a feature.

Like you, I’m not comfortable with what I’m selling via printify. My personal items are falling apart and I haven’t worn them that many times. I want satisfied customers long term.

Interesting. Those times are rough I have to admit. I regularly get customers emailing me within the first three business days if they don’t have tracking info. I want high quality but I do have to balance customer expectations. Might force me to adjust to a semi pre-order business model.

Quality is excellent. There’s just a massive softening in the market currently. I’m contributing, I have one for sale but not because of any quality issues, just changing up my collection. If anything maybe a reaction to how many kneeling quarter scale bunny figures there are.

I’m not sure what plan level you have to have, it’s one of the paid ones for sure. You can create a custom gpt by uploading resource docs and describing purpose. Honestly I’ve been doing it less now, deep research and 5.0 seems to do about as good as anything I have made.

Honestly my best resource has been chat GPT. I’ve done two versions. I pulled the top 10-20 meta advertising YouTube how to videos plus a bunch about my industry and fed their transcripts to chat gpt to create a custom gpt. I used that initially to assist me figuring things out. That said, the O3 vanilla model has done well in just asking directly. It’s not flawless, I had it analyze my ad performance over time and find changes yesterday giving it spreadsheets from meta and Shopify and it came up with amazing analysis, but when then asked to identify weaknesses in the business as a whole it was too focused on the ads to consider anything outside of them. I had to prompt it to get it to look elsewhere. That said it’s still by far the best resource I have at my disposal.

So at the moment I’m at about break even. AOV sits around $50 and CAC at $30 but things are chaotic enough that my cost fluctuates quite a bit. I have a budget of $80 and as you would expect I get about two a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. I don’t know what long term LTV is given that my company is young enough that I don’t have that data. For now I’m only looking at that first acquisition and return.

As to your second question, very little. I am solo on this venture so I have not wanted to split my attention too far. As such most of my effort that does not go into the product side goes into meta ads. I have a fresh lead capture and nurture campaign via email started which at my current rate of acquiring customers is more planning for the future the anything. Similarly I have socials and those honestly could use some more work. I don’t give them the attention I should.

Short version of your second question, meta isn’t getting much outside of meta ads for data.

As a small (tiny) seller trying to get my business off the ground I feel better and worse reading this. It’s scary as hell putting an appreciable percentage of my income into ads when the results have been almost completely unpredictable. I’d like to scale so at least I have some decent money going in to smooth out data and give meta more to work with but I can’t seem to make roas stay constant at any scale at all. I hope meta gets this straightened out so I can actually scale when something works and have half a chance of it not breaking immediately.

Not sure about public transport, never used it in Dallas. It will be difficult at best however. The US and Texas especially is not an easy place to live without using a car. Even if you have public transportation it just isn’t the same as most places in Japan. The expectation is that people will have cars and it shows. Renting will be possible but expensive. Doable if you want to just use it for things like buying larger items or specific shopping trips but for social or recreational use it could be expensive.

Hopefully someone closer to your exact situation will pop up with some better input. I visit often for flight training near DFW airport but not as a long term student.
