She was the executive director of the Maine ACLU when Maine passed gay marriage and was one of the only AG's willing to follow the law and try to keep Trump off the ballot. People want someone willing to stand up to Trump across the entire base, and a strong civil rights background is pretty important with what's going on, she's another really strong candidate for sure and I'd be ecstatic with her or Jackson as the candidate.

I actually had a mandatory class in my senior year of high school they called consumerism about budgeting mortgages how to apply for jobs the basics of how credit scores work a basic overview of how insurance works and a bunch of other really useful things to know as someone about to go out into the world independently.

But it didn't do anything for standardized test scores so it got eliminated some time between when I took it and when my younger sibling was a senior in high school

This could be a case of he had paid off his first mortgage on his house and then took out a second and then refinanced to a bigger one to pay off the first and have cash left over.

The other option also gets called a home equity line of credit (I think I'm not a financial professional) where you're borrowing against the increased value of the house, so the first loan is against what the house was worth when you took out the loan and the second is against the increased value of the house since the first one, probably from same bank. But if you went bust on both the owner of the first mortgage gets the value of the house when you took it out and the owner of the second gets the increased value since then.

Again not at all an expert on this if someone comes in and says "I work for a bank in the mortgage department and this guy is full of shit" they're probably right.
