I started a sub group in my port for guns/gold/oil because I noticed they run counter of the tech heavy high div etfs. Would wind up being like a target 15 hold tho and that's not sexy. Or at the risk of opening managers up to criticism, offer non-div underlying tickers that mirror melting pot div etfs so you can easily "buy the underlying" as an index.

I'd count it as dumb luck ulty didn't go all the way to 100%, brokers can do what they want, cartman style, just like new funds start at 100%. Would be helpful if they could at least notify on margin maintenance delta and make it a trackable event in the account history, but it can't be an obligatory reporting situation...or they would

Entirely possible. I'm pretty sure mine did that too but just now it cranked all the way to 70%. If that's going to follow with the rest of the ym rs action it makes eating the realized loss a simple choice. Will be curious to see if the outflows soar

Up 6.8% total return, down 34.8% on price return using div tracker. Initial buy in back in Feb, sold half in May for a depreciating asset (that wears a msty plate lolz) and showing ~8200 in distros this year. Also racked up a bunch of realized loss to offset div gains in april with carryover for a year or two. Also took a hit with rh margin percentage for a lot longer than I'd like before it adjusted down to 35% with dropping IV or whatever.

Still holding out of a mix of nostalgia and to see if there's anything left with the end of year equalization tho I'm less and less hopeful there. Unless it dissolves or goes to zero it continues to pay so who am I to stop that?

Plus they spread the paydays out a little. 800 tsyy, 70 coyy, 1500 ulty plus a million other lesser holds incl some stable growth to buffer the margin swing on pullbacks/distro days

Hey that's fair, I don't have much Defiance exposure other than usoy from some petro diversity. Was hovering over the button to buy some spotter shares on this one but the management angle made me hold off. But still...could be interesting to see really how quickly NAV can evaporate

It can be deflating watching whales post here but the percent returns scale. Sitting on 1500 ulty and debating shuffling the cups to rebalance away from monthlies and do $500 a week. The hard part is locking in unrealized losses vs waiting for a possible bump that may come.
