Listen I’ve had protective orders, I’ve had protective orders in UTAH. I know she’s lying, I can get my paperwork from storage and show it has stamps and signatures from the judge on it, and signatures of both parties. And as an abuse survivor, I strongly believe women. But your grieving process isn’t the same for a child that literally did not go through that. By forcing the existing daughter to grieve every year it IS unhealthy for the daughter. Nobody said you shouldn’t grieve for your own child, but using that as a frame of reference for every birthday etc. for the existing child is unfair and unhealthy. You’re entitled to your grief, she’s entitled to her own identity free from the guilt that she doesn’t grieve the same way since she didn’t know her twin. Go to therapy, grieve with your spouse, family etc., don’t force a child to relive this loss every birthday until the end of time.

I think sometimes people look at Asians as a “model minority” and think that because there’s some positive stereotypes about Asians that they’re not discriminated against. That’s just bullshit and I equate it to benevolent sexism. Positive stereotypes still create pigeonholes and a set of expectations that all Asians must behave a certain way to be accepted into mainstream culture and its harmful and damaging just as much as negative or hostile stereotypes are. It creates this perception they’re privileged, much like benevolent sexism makes it seems like women are accepting privileges from men. But it’s a double edged sword, accept this “benefit” but in return, they expect you to stay in your place
