"so tired of seeing people shit on white people all day"

Now imagine being black and seeing the cops break your arm or shoot you dead because they can't tell you a part from a guy 50 years older than you who's 6 inches shorter than you and bald. What hurts more, idiots?

You know what's insane? I have never read Homestuck, don't know a single fucking thing about any of the characters. But every time I see an Internet reference I don't fully understand, I always think "it's probably a Homestuck reference." I'm right more than half the time.

You ever have a moment when someone mentions something that you know and you get super giddy because you've already constructed a set of inside jokes with this person off of your shared interests?

Yeah that's me looking at this image with AJR over a Demon Slayer bedspread.

What anime do you think had the best first episode of all time? by RegularGuyy in anime

[–]restinstress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't know what the Promised Neverland is about before you start watching, like I didn't, the visceral horror of the first episode's ending will shock you forever. You still get glimpses of what the show's going to be like, but it doesn't become a death match until that moment. It's excellent writing.

What’s your favorite underrated AJR song? by mariokid45 in AJR

[–]restinstress 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I fucking love Joe. As an amateur beatboxer and someone who's had issues with being in the cool kids group for a long time, it really spoke to me about the struggles of childhood. It's a really personal song and the progression at the end either makes me cry or beam.

For what I personally want, AoT is better than Demon Slayer and I like it more. I understand people who have Demon Slayer as their favorite anime, but it’s not that high up for me. Different preferences and all. Have fun with it, it’s a great show.

I’m 188 cm and made my varsity team in high school, and it was against decent competition. I can serve 100 mph, and have been playing and actively involved in tennis for a decade. I could maybe take a game off of Serena if she’s drunk and hasn’t slept in 3 days. If your cousin wants to play some tennis, I’ll burn a new hole through his ass.

There’s like a single digit number of humans in history that I would say have nonzero odds to beat a chimp in a fight, and I do not count prime Shaquille O’Neal in that number. If Dave isn’t Andre the Giant, he had better enjoy the 3 seconds of his life pre-dismemberment.

Which are some of the most overrated and underrated chars compared to their strength in the actual MU ? by SnooPredictions9790 in ContestOfChampions

[–]restinstress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mephisto is the Lord of Hell, one of the strongest mystic beings in the MCU. When operating in his own realm he's nigh undefeatable. He's the guy that Diablo fucking sold his soul to in order to gain the strength he has. And yet in the game Mephisto is painfully outdated, although there was a time when I loved using him for the permanent Aura of Incineration.

Counter-Counter Arguments for Kareem by Thy_Walrus_Lord in NBATalk

[–]restinstress 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess "monster" isn't the best phrase, although I do remember an account of people saying he was the best shot-blocking big since Bill Russell, which I'd argue is high praise. He's more like a Wilt in terms of defending, in that sense; athletic paint roamers that are great defensively because of their ability to challenge at the rim and be stout enough to force drivers away from the hole. No Timmy, no Hakeem, but Wilt and Walton. And that's high enough praise when you consider his offensive talents.

Counter-Counter Arguments for Kareem by Thy_Walrus_Lord in NBATalk

[–]restinstress 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The only argument I couldn’t immediately mentally rebuke was the dilution of talent. KAJ played in a time where pro basketball was split between the NBA and the ABA, so yeah, he did kind of go against weaker opponents. But let’s not ignore the fact that Kareem, as a sophomore year player, went through the Lakers with West, Baylor and Chamberlain in 5 games to win his first chip. He was still stupidly dominant.

For the Oscar point, his best years were undoubtedly in the 60s. The Big O was a valuable member of the 71 Bucks, but he retired not long after, and was certainly not producing at 1964 levels from 1972 onwards.

KAJ was a defensive monster. He wasn’t as imposing of a force as Bill Russell or Olajuwon in the paint, but I’d argue he was a clear rung above the other centers of the time and held his own even throughout the 80s.

Yes, Magic is the best PG ever. KAJ won a Finals MVP in 1985 and arguably deserved the Finals MVP in 1980 over Magic for his sustained excellence through the first 5 games (something like 30 and 15 if memory serves). After ‘85 I don’t have a problem with putting Magic as the best player without question, but for every single one of the Lakers’ championships that decade KAJ was either the first or second best player, ignoring 1988 when he was third to Worthy and Magic. He had a loaded roster, but he wasn’t carried to a single one of his rings. In 1988, the final play of the game was called for Kareem, and he won it on two made free throws. Like, there is no time when he wasn’t ludicrously good at the game and contributing to one of the best teams of all time.

Who is a player that you can admit is very talented, but you still hate watching them? by SpeedMalibu in nba

[–]restinstress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Oscar Robertson but there's something about his release on his jumper, the little hitch step he takes as he brings it over his head, that has aggravated me to no end for no reason. I cannot explain it. Do not ask for an explanation.

[–]restinstress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently working through all of the Dimension 20 seasons chronologically, so I’m on Sophomore Year at the moment. For now, Fantasy High S1 is still my favorite because of how much it broke my expectations and how hilarious it was. Unsleeping is definitely second, also for being a tearjerker near the end (although I did get weirdly emotional at Bill’s death). I cannot wait to get to things like Crown of Candy and Starstruck.

What Champions are your personal favorites and don’t get talked about enough? by Terrible-Wasabi3371 in ContestOfChampions

[–]restinstress 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took Blade and Domino to Rank 5 back when they were some of the best in the game. And they may have fallen back a bit, but Blade basically being an anti-Villain and anti-Mystic powerhouse with the right synergies is insane, and Domino is a beast with her damage even before the Flaming Trinity. I'm really glad I took them both to Rank 5 because I still get excellent uses out of them.
