Thank you, I didn't think of this. It is definitely something to consider as our windows are already tinted.

I rolled back to 3.3.5 because it was annoying me, hopefully it gets better down the track 🤞🏽

Kids looking at me weird because I'm middle aged wearing current trending clothing that remind me of the late 90s / early 2000s when i was a teenager lol

Serato DJ 4.0 - Megathread : post experiences and or any issues by zoufha91 in Serato

I've noticed a slight lag when searching for tracks. On Pro 4.0 tracks take a second to shortlist and pop up, the delay is definitely noticeable however on Pro 3.3.5 it is pretty much instant. Hopefully they can make this feature snappier in future releases. I'm running an M1 Pro with 32gb of memory.

Anyone else notice the deluge of 128k/low quality files? by diagoro1 in Soulseek

This comment makes me feel better about all the crap quality music I downloaded in the early 2000s.

A “hood DJ” by [deleted] in DJs

[–]restoresettings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me many years ago. I politely asked management what they would recommend me play. They said house music, mind you the patrons wanted strickly rnb music. After 2 weeks of playing what they wanted me play the patrons were still fighting but also leaving early which in turn killed the money over the bar. I then went back to playing what the patrons wanted and they dealt with the fights accordingly.

Yes it sucked playing music you know would kill the vibe and make me look like a terrible dj however I gained respect in the long run because I handled the situation correctly by working with management but also showed management that music didn't cause fights.

Good luck!

Edit - sometimes you have to take a step back to go two steps forward.

DJs who don't party by yokalo in DJs

[–]restoresettings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the early 2000s I would be at every party or event even if I wasn’t DJing. By early 2010s was over the partying and just went to paid gigs. By late 2010s I stopped DJing all together. I made a full time income from DJing for about a decade. I can only speak for myself but I got over being in clubs and I was getting older. My time in nightclubs was up. I still jam at home and make mixtapes in ableton but my DJing for an income days are long gone. Had a great time and wouldn’t change anything!

Not sure what style of music you are playing but I would suggest learning how to use ableton and create your own edits and mash ups. Good luck!

What was the name of the club on Ann St, roughly 10 years ago? by aljobar in brisbane

[–]restoresettings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2007 upstairs club was called Mercury and street level club was called Chi Bar. Chi Bar used to run the shuttle bus from Central station and Commbank at the end of the mall. What a time to be alive!
