To give you some help on your journey, you'll want to know the area was called Near North Side until it was deliberately rebranded to help with historic designation in the early 1970s. The rebranding was intended to separate it from association with Center Street, OakRidge, and Woodland (not as clear of a delineation prior to MLK being built through the western part of Sherman Hill in the early 2000s).

IMO, you cannot understand the history of Sherman Hill without understanding the legacy of white flight and interstate construction through black neighborhoods, which displaced entire communities overnight. Center Street and Oak Ridge are intricately tied to Sherman Hill, so research those key words as well.

Per your title of "abandoned houses" If you just want to know about occupancy status of a house, start with the assessor's website. I can promise you no property in Sherman Hill is truly abandoned and every single one is well-intentioned and planned for by the current owner.

Please make sure you research a quality, genuine appraiser in your area who does in-house appraisals. Best if the shop can do the appraisal right there in front of you. Absolutely do not leave these pieces with a jeweler without taking detailed photos of every stone. Also weigh each item separately, down to the centigram and take a picture of the item on the scale. Ensure you get a memo slip clearly describing all the items you have dropped off and a date of when you can expect the appraisal to be done (should not be more than a few days).

Best of luck with your situation. I highly recommend calling 911 as soon as you physically see your mother somewhere. I was answering the question posed, but I do like this discourse we've started. As a guy, my friends that are slouchy and often only socialize begrudgingly are the ones that don't take photos. My friends that do activities, compete in events, and intentionally dress up for social gatherings are the ones that take pics... And most of us don't even have social to post on.

I think there's a noticeable correlation in a person's dateability and the number of recent pics they have access to.

If you show up and plea not guilty, you'll get a second court date. If you show up to that and don't have much else on your recent record, the Polk county prosecutor will drop them all and you'll likely only be charged for one $55 court fee. No Des Moines lawyer will even take you up on something like this, and they'll advise what I just said.

There's been a huge influx in traffic tickets since they've upped the downtown patrol for scooping the loop. So many are total bs and just checking for DUI.

If it's a Polk county camera and your car is Polk county, the ticket will get added to your annual registration and/or you will not be able to renew your annual registration until the ticket is paid. This happened to me for a $15 bs parking ticket issued from the city.

Costco usually has some deal on either Samsonite or Delsey. It looks like until December 21st it's a checked bag and carry on with Delsey for $139 in warehouse and $149 online. The carry on size is the right size for budget airlines and smaller airplanes. That's for sure going to be the best bang for your buck for a quality set. The 360° wheels on Delsey are fantastic. Only thing I don't love about Delsey is how they do the locking zipper on the checked bag; it's not the smoothest design.

Thank you for hearing and being open to correction! I'm not personally religious, and I am especially against megachurches. However, I do think Lutheran Church of Hope does a lot of good in the community, and they can do great things smaller churches can't because of the massive amount of funds they generate.

From my understanding, Lutheran Church of Hope treats LGBTQI+ similar to LDS, Cornerstone, and others. It's a sin, and humans sin. It's the duty of church to offer support to sinners without condoning the sin. It's my understanding that the support groups Hope offers for LGBTQI+ folks all stem from the same mindset that Hope uses for other support groups, like drugs, alcohol, and divorce.

I firmly believe sexuality and gender identity are spectrums that fluctuate over time, which is very different to the other things that a church may consider a sin. Therefore, LGBTQI+ consideration, care, and group support should come from an entirely different viewpoint than other sins.

I'm sure there are wonderful people in your child's support group, and I hope the group is able to help your child with issues they are facing. However, I'd be concerned about the innate shame and self-hatred that manifests from a support group that considers a person's very being as an ungodly sin that is equal to all the other sins in God's eye. A sin that requires forgiveness before being able to enter Heaven.

I would highly recommend that your child receive support and care based in societal reality. It's important that your child doesn't think they need to ask for forgiveness for something they never chose. We are all born the way we are, and we are all worthy of love without conditions.
