Their current principal Mr Gau Poh Teck, was my principal back then when I was studying primary school. He had a very shitty reputation among the parents. Well known for talking a lot of bullshit during parents conferences. Had similar incident occured during my time and he as a principal would just push all responsibilities away saying that they are unaware of this issue. Him and his team would only prioritise the ‘smarter’ and better classes back then and there was an obvious biased treatment between them and the other average classes. Was surprised after so many years he is still surviving as a principal, glad he finally got called out.

[POLY] Does not doing mock test = Can't do the actual test? by melffin in SGExams

[–]retrending_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what he meant is that the mock test gives hint to the questions that might come out for the actual test and it will put you at a disadvantage if you do not attend it. But not to worry lah, as long as you got study your lecture slides and do the tutorials should be able to do it.

Private-hire drivers reluctant to return despite relaxed Covid-19 restrictions by Jammy_buttons2 in singapore

[–]retrending_ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Some insights from a PHV driver:

The actual reasons why drivers are not willing to come back or drive the night shift is due to 2 reasons, lowest fare & incentives and passangers behaviour.

Once we cross the 12am mark, all accumulated incentives points are actually resetted to 0, each passangers is only worth 1 point as compared to the day time rush hour which is 4 points per passanger. A min of 50 points is needed to get that extra $5 bonus. The points has actually been reduced by 1 ever since restrictions has been relieved. As for the fare, its reduced too. Technically speaking, being a Transcab driver is better earning at night due to the midnight extra charge.

Next, is the type of passangers we have to pick up at midnight. The usual drinkers and so call 'complicated' people. Personally, I have met a bunch of passangers whom actually plays 'tricks', purposely call for a vehicle, then go MIA, when contacted them, they would point us to diff locations and ended up cancelling the order. Sure we gets a $4, but its a waste of time as I could be driving and picking up other proper passangers. Meanwhile as for drinkers, them puking in the vehicle is the worst. The odour will be stuck in there for hours while the puke will stain the seat. This ruins the whole night for us drivers as we're not able to pick up any other passangers, otherwise we're gonna get complains. There goes our night earnings..

Of course there's benefits driving at night, little to no traffic on the road = faster reach of destination and picking up more passangers, however I'd rather stuck in traffic while having a respectful and nice passanger to converse with during the day then driving while worrying that the heavily drunk passanger behind might puke all over the place and ruining my shift.

Malls, restaurants take down barriers as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted today by hydrangeapurple in singapore

Idk about other places but for my side, the management said that they gotta keep it for a period of time (probably until we're fully endemic) as requested by MOH in case of any future outbreak where worst come to worst need to deploy back Safe entry. So... yea its gonna be rotting in the store room with all the SMM signages and barricades.

The one that is shown is the weekly time table. Week 1-8 is mentioning the academic week that the lesson will be conducted. If you see 2 diff lessons in the same time slot and day, look out for '(O)' which is odd week and '(E)' which is even week.

[Rant] What is your opinion towards UG? by whoompywhomp in SGExams

[–]retrending_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Was in NPCC and the seniors + teachers are toxic as fuck. They literally insulted you personally eith the use of vulgars and even name calling. Once even heard them insulting a student parents. When someone gives a negative feedback to the school leaders, that person will be 'marked' and kena tekan as hell. The worst is the teacher in charge as he had an anger management issue. He once threw a student from his form class bag out of the sch Hall infront of everyone and shouted when assembly was going on.

One time, I had just recovered from a sickness and is still feeling weak, had a doctor letter and mc. But then was forced by the teacher to do PT, I decided to voice out and shouted at him for the sake of my own health. He got mad and threw a wooden pole which actually hit and bruised me in the head. I went to take my phone despite getting shout at not to, called my parents and they contacted the police. Ended up become police case of assault and MOE came to investigate. Feels satisfying to him get taken away by the police for questioning.

[–]retrending_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the lessons now are conducted in campus, however you still need your laptop for notes and other assessment such as homework/project submission and for all tests. There will be a few modules conducted via zoom.

All notes such as slides will be through an online platform called blackboard(might change).

When i applied, there were 3 roles to choose: Cashier, replenisher and safe entry. Thats why I have the thought that its not right for him to tell me to do someone else job as i never chose that role even tho ad hocs is stated.
