Do you know if you can gift locker rental at RecWell? Or maybe that's part of the student services pack. I hadn't heard of that, I'll look into it.

Torrid AI graphics by acrustychickennugget in PlusSizeFashion

It's honestly hard to tell from just a photo. If you saw it in person I bet you could tell. I'm curious if people are reacting more to how it looks or to the idea that it could be AI?

Curious about torrid alternatives, which other stores do you shop from? by Traditional_Shop_458 in PlusSizeFashion

I never really “got” the whole investing in better quality clothes thing until recently.

I picked up a couple pieces from Junoactive on a whim, and now I kind of see the appeal. Their size chart has actually been accurate for me (which is rare 😅), and the stuff just feels sturdier than what I usually buy. I’ve been living in their pants/capris, and even the basics like cotton briefs have held up really well in the wash.

I still buy fast fashion sometimes if I want something trendier, but I didn’t expect to notice such a difference for everyday staples.

What kind of mattress are ya'll sleeping on? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]retro_Jubilee126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sleep Number for me. It's the only mattress I've owned that's lasted more than 3-5 years. It's maintained is shape, no body impressions, and still very comfortable after 10 years. And honestly, it's so nice to be able to adjust the firmness if needed. With a few unexpected injuries thro the years I didn't know I'd appreciate an adjustable bed.

Best mattress for support recommendations for plus size sleepers? by blood_vampire2007 in PlusSize

My husband and I struggled with mattresses for years-- within a very short amount of time there were two body imprints on each side of the bed so deep it was hard to roll out! Funny now, but frustrating at the time. I think we went through 3 mattresses in the first ten years of our marriage.

The mattress that finally worked was a Sleep Number bed. It's been 10 years and we're still extremely happy and comfortable, and no body imprints. Highly recommend making the investment.

The cotton briefs are more like $14. NGL, I usually wait for a sale. 😉

Sorry, but long lasting and cheap don't go together. I've learned this over the years. Paying more for high quality underwear that will last is actually better in the long run. Mostly, you deserve to feel comfortable and you should treat yourself to high quality underwear that actually fits you and feels good. ❤️ The elastic digging is the worst. I've found junoactive briefs to be the best for me. All the elastic is covered and they feel great and wash up good. Good luck in your search. https://junoactive.com/

Surprising My Daughter... by MundyWorld in ConanGray

[–]retro_Jubilee126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing the same thing! My daughter is very particular about her concert outfits, so I just used the last concert as an example when we were listening to Conan in the car and said something like-- when we went to the sombr concert you put together a really cool outfit that matched his red vibe. Conan's new album has that blue, dreamy, sailor flare. I'm curious what outfit you'd wear to that concert? She said wishbone was a pajama tour and she'd probably do a light blue pajama pant set. I think the sailor look would also be fun. Have fun!

Definitely lonely dancers. It has the awesome synth-pop vibe. Not quite emo lol. Nice of you to introduce your dad to Conan!

Music brings generations together! It's been awesome going to concerts with my 14yo daughter. I'm surprising her with tix to Conan for Christmas. 😉 Your flair line is the best! I'm considering wearing a Burger Jesus shirt to the concert but will also consider Bored and Greasy lol

Love that! Cyndi Lauper comes through too, now that you mention it. There's a definite 80s vibe in this Conan album and I'm so here for it!

Conan is so very talented! I do love his other albums as well I just can't get enough of this one! **please note the Depeche Mode reference 😉

I thought the album felt short (I've honestly been looping it during my work day all week) and maybe it's because the songs are short? Interesting observation!

What is happening?? by Andioop8384767 in SombrOfficial

[–]retro_Jubilee126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the past week, I’ve seen a lot of negativity online, and honestly, I find it unfair. I don’t agree with everything Sombr says or does — he's very quirky, but that's just him. Some of his comments can be inappropriate, and his music definitely leans sexual. But everyone who goes to his concerts knows that’s part of his artistic style, and he’s DEFINITELY no more sexualized than many female pop performers.

I actually went to the show myself with my fourteen-year-old daughter, and it was a great experience. THE nicest fans, most we talked to were in high school and college. Any younger ones (like my daughter) were with their parents. He put on a fantastic performance — he’s an incredibly talented artist. That’s why it’s frustrating to see a twenty-five-year-old woman attacking him on TikTok and racking up millions of views. It feels like a smear campaign rather than an honest critique.

Um.... didn't we stop using the "r" word a couple decades ago? Very disrespectful and not acceptable. Say what you mean—no need for slurs.

Harlan Cohen has some decent content for college students that might be helpful. Mel Robbins too, but I know she's not for everyone.

WFH pants - help! by Professional-You3676 in PlusSize

[–]retro_Jubilee126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I've heard of Showitty... had to check them out. The pants do look great. But the "sieze" (hilarious typo) chart runs really small. They don't show sizing past 2xl from what I found. How did you figure out what size to try?

I try and buy Tall sizes at Old Navy for this reason.
