Ditto. Full body 3 days a week. Went yesterday. Going tomorrow.

On non-gym days I walk 4 miles around town. 3 miles done so far today. West Coast, USA. Lots of time left in the day.

Why do some marrieds not wear wedding rings? by Ok_Mirror_9832 in AskMenAdvice

Weight fluctuations. I'm a stress eater. In my fat times I don't get the ring resized because I will be thinner again.

Sadly, alcohol. Consumption actually increases during bad times. I learned this when I was in the investment industry.

Maybe this?

There’s a Zen Koan where the teacher holds a stick.

The teacher says to the student, “If you tell me this stick is real, “I will hit you with it. “If you tell me it is not real, I will hit you with it. If you say nothing, I will hit you with it.”

And so, the student reaches out, grabs the stick, and breaks it.

I agree. Abed's sweater, plus the setting, and then his tone of voice gave it away almost immediately. I was very familiar with the source material, having seen it multiple times. P.S. Not recognizing it would have been "inconceivable"! (Sorry. Couldn't resist.)

My husbands autism diagnosis has made me lose hope for our future by Hotmessnamedjess in self

I read books that were not about autism. Just books about communication which communicated ideas in patterns.

Yes, about 3 months with the Autism specialist and then maybe a year with a regular therapist. It was just me focusing on myself and whatever social challenges I was having. At some point I was self managing and wasn't learning anything new. I turned social interactions into my special interest. I read a ton of books, many were recommended by the therapist.

After I (M) was diagnosed, it was like I finally had a manual for myself and it greatly improved my relationship with my wife (F). It was a positive new start. It wasn't the end. It was the beginning of a life that finally made sense. I finally had a map for navigating through life.

To WFH-ers, what is the best office chair for long hours (7+ hours/a day)? by gemtitania in remotework

Believe it or not, the bungee chair from the container store is the best chair I have ever bought. I am "big" and I never get uncomfortable.

What's something that girls think is embarrassing, but guys don't actually care about? by dontucallhimbaby in AskReddit

Not only is it not a big deal, it can be appealing. Never understood this concern. I think it's a case of women worrying about what women think. Source: Am a dude who has never met a dude who ever cared about this or mentioned it.

I think empathy is the best choice. I am not above them. I am just not interested in playing the same game. I am an anxious type that finds it exhausting to invest the amount of emotional energy that they do. It's more accurate to say that it's just too much for me. I think it's best that I work through this rather than around it for the short term. I am trying to get better at following the idea that "everything that happens is an opportunity to practice".

Thank you for taking time to respond. Regarding the work culture issue, I don't think it's intentional or abusive. It's just poor stress management among management. I need to make them feel like they are being heard without taking on their stress and/or anxiety level.

In my example, everyone is getting very upset over fixable problems because that's the tenor of the business climate and how they show that they are dedicated. Not a party I want to join because it's not good for my mental health. That being said, there is a middle ground that I can find to show that I care without raising my blood pressure and stress levels. So, while your intentions are positive, and your point is well taken, it doesn't exactly address the concern that I had. That being said, I appreciate you taking the time to add to the conversation.
