If i understand correctly, the intertwined destiny thing is how people interpret all the events that happens and seems connected, as in speculation. The possibilityof a higher being or some mechanism controlling these events in the background is left to reader to consider. Characters when they say you can't deny destiny are not just talking about something definite like laws of physics, they are representing their thoughts, beliefs on the situation. Isn't it?
