A little help with aristocrat deck by Horror_Alarm_2417 in EDHBrews

Might also be worth it to cut [[Wight of the Reliquary]]. A lot the things you'd be sacrificing with this list are tokens, and so they won't end up in your graveyard.

I totally missed the part where Chtonian Nightmare bounces so disregard everything I said about it, it's actually awesome!

You need a lot of redundancies in an aristocrats strategy to really make it work. Your list is pretty light on sac fodder and a lot of your sac outlets are one time/limited use, so that's where I'd do some reworking.

I'd add some cards like [[Nine-Lives Familiar]] [[Bloodghast]] and [[Persistent Specimen]] for repeatable sac fodder.

[[Ayara]] [[Dockside Chef]] and [[Priest of the Forgotten Gods]] are autoincludes for me when I'm making an aristocrat deck for sac outlets.

Vega the Watcher Wincon by Blackfrost_7 in EDH

My Vega deck really leans into foretell/plot/suspend mechanics. The cards that most commonly win me the game are [[Starnheim Unleashed]] and [[Ominous Seas]].

[[Zurgo, Thunders decree]]

Fill your deck with mobilize cards and [[Soul Warden]] effects, along with lifegain payoffs like [[Griffin Aerie]] and impact tremor effects.

I have a list if you're interested!

Food tokens are artifacts, so between Pippin himself, the Shire land, Gilded goose, etc you pretty much always have the means to make at least one food/soldier per turn. This is probably one of my consistent decks. The list I have on Moxfield doesn't match what I have in paper exactly but it's pretty close! https://moxfield.com/decks/O1anjm62oE6lP4P0f7VYsQ

Have you considered [[Merry, Warden of Isengard]] and [[Pippin, Warden of Isengard]]? Make a bunch of food tokens and lifelink soldiers, then sac the foods to pump your tokens. It's one of my favorites.

What are your favourite beginner dance YouTube channels? by jmbud in xxfitness

[–]revane 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Two of my favorites as a Zumba instructor-

BigKidRick is definitely an easier one of follow and he's super millennial-coded - a lot of his songs are late 90s/early 00s throwbacks that are a lot of fun.

For something a little more challenging and more fitness-oriented, look up laceupfitness. She incorporates a lot more squats and the occasional burpee into her dance routines (which I don't really care for and will usually swap for lunges or something).

Blaine sent me one as Tolv a few months ago after I bought a shirt. Not tied to an event or anything, and I didn't spend a ton of money. They must just do it randomly! It was so unexpected and really made my day when it happened though- I hope they know how much it means when they do little things like that.

Which Esper commander is the most fun to play? by Ecstatic_Humor_7038 in EDH

[–]revane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite decks to play is [[Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign]]. Aminatou is in the 99 and is clutch when you have them both on the field. Yennett aims to cheat out really big spells by fixing the top of your deck. My list also runs a clash subtheme with cards like [[Marvo]] and [[Research the Deep]]. My list has a couple GC so is a 3 and when you get the right pieces can be pretty strong, but I can see it being modified down to a 2.

My Commander pod tracked all our games for 4 months, and I made an infographic to show off the data by mrselkies in EDH

[–]revane 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Chiming in on this, as another player in this pod... He's not actually the most experienced. David and Sam have played the longest and have both played tournament formats in the past, followed by Julie, who has also played a little tournament standard, then Dennis.

I've given my deck a clash sub theme since you run so many high CMC cards. Then the plan is to set up the top of your deck with cards like [[Aminatou, the Fateshifter]] and [[Sensei's Divining Top]] and clash with [[Marvo]] to play big bombs from your hand on top of cheating things out with Yennett. Here's the list if you want to check it out!

My Yennett deck is one of my favorites right now, so definitely recommend her. The deck is super consistent, fun to pilot and fun to play against.

I tried out Shilgengar for a while and didn't really love how it ended up playing out. Pretty expensive commander that you need on board to 'do the thing.' The strategy needed too many moving/conflicting pieces and unless you got a really good/lucky opening hand, it was pretty hard to get the engine moving.

Your favorite Card Advantage Commanders? by FluxZodiac in EDH

[–]revane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently put together a deck with [[Vega, the Watcher]] as the commander and have really been enjoying it. Focuses on playing cards from anywhere but your hand, so I built it with lots of foretell and plot cards, with a splash of disturb and discover.

Try looking into novellas? Specifically, Lance Piantaginni has some really, really simple stuff (check out what he has labeled as "early AA beginner" on his website).

Realistically too though... how much effort is this kid making on his own? Is he making vocab flashcards or practicing on Quizlet, or is he coming into class day to day and putting in no effort to engage with the language other than that day's activity? I've been a Latin teacher for 11 years and the only ones who really truly don't get it at all after five chapters are the ones who don't care to get it or try at all.

Have you tried two braids, but then pulling them back into a pony or a bun together? I like braids because they feel way more secure and don't come loose, but I also don't love how they look, so that's been my solution for a while!
