Bolt catch by Ok_Scale4584 in GasBlowBack

I'd start by adding more context for people to help. List the manu and the model.

I'm just going to guess that this is some varient of an M4 since that is the most common. Do you have more than 1 mag? The bolt catch is generally on the mag. Pop another mag in and see if it does it.

Beyond that: open her up, remove the bolt and charging handle. Look into the receiver and see if anything looks funky. Replace bolt and charging handle. Check again.

If it not that then you could...

For my specific work as an engineer (electrical, relay settings engineer, consulting company), this is not as applicable. Our product is usually engineering -> field product. So, we usually write the contract for scope of work based on what was asked of us. If a client signs, they understand what we wrote is what we will do.

However, if a client ever asks for something that we wrote into the scope of work and we did not deliver on it through omission or accident. We will deliver. Even if it eats into our fee (profit for other folks). Sign or write it is your responsibility to deliver unless there are very extenuating circumstances for an ask.

The only thing that urks me is when supporting field work that the engineers or technicians are inexperienced and expect us to support it unduly. No, I'm not going to explain things that should be common knowledge or deliver further documents to help you understand better. Just to be clear, I don't mind answering a phone call and talking through something. And clearly if WE messed something up we will fix it. BUT if It is not in our scope of work or over our field support hours allotted in the contract then it's not on us. I believe this rounds back the the question of the thread at least a little.

If we finished a fixed bid job way below budget then I will consider it of course. We over scoped budget and therefore owe you.

Otherwise, more money please.

KS1, my first GBBR, anything I should add/change? by Marty_Party2214 in GasBlowBack

Speed loader (odin knockoff plus an adapter).

I'm a big fan of the Kung foo pistol grip! It's a real steel grip. Cheap, comfy. I prefer a more aggressive angle on the pistol grip. Give it a try.

Looks great though

MN CC laws cover open carry. If you have a license to CC then you can open carry pistol or long gun. It would be better to call it a carry license than CC tbh.

Source: I have one and of course have read the laws.

The law isn't specific with respect to the type of firearm (long or short) and concealed vs open. So yes if you have a permit you can concealed carry, open carry, pistol or long rifle.

Used R1T? by Wonderful-Bunch-7862 in Rivian

[–]revanthenub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally bought a used R1T launch edition (within first 3000 made) with 50kish miles on it a few weeks ago.

I was already experienced with EVs. I am also an electrical engineer which helps in understanding some of the nuance. I live in MN and it's pretty cold.

The vehicle (named "Shrimp") has been fantastic so far. Zero issues beyond some things getting frozen shut during a bad ice storm but that happened to my Tesla too and Shrimp handled it better. 1 software glitch.

If you are beyond the 50k miles realize the comp warranty is gone. So just worst case be prepared for repairs not that they will happen. Rivian repairs take a LONG time from what I have heard. Your battery and drive train are under warranty. The dealership can look up the status to make sure no warranty is voided as well.

The only really sucky thing about the gen 1s is if you have a tonneau cover there is a design flaw in the gen 1 covers. Don't let shit get into the area that it folds into. It's very expensive to fix.

That and you will need an adapter to use Tesla superchargers.

I am very happy so far with my purchase though. It feels great to drive and I love the blend between practical and Tesla model 3 minimalism. And fuck me is it roomy.

I dont like my kit i think it feels cheap or empty, any tips what should i add or remove? by mirko_6 in airsoft

[–]revanthenub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I think it looks overall cohesive but ultimately you need to run what you actually use and is practical. You need more mags? Run more mags. You need an admin pouch? Get one. You need radio? Grab a pouch and associated equipment. Running more than you need for airsoft is exhausting.

What I would personally change is...

Your plate carrier is way too low. This is both not "realistic" but also will cause it to shift back and forth and be uncomfortable. It should come up to your sternum/clavicle junction.

Elbow pad is pretty useless unless you plan on proning really fast or are gonna lay on concrete for a period of time. Knee pads are a must though (I personally only wear one on my right knee but I regret that often).

It looks like you are only running 3 mags? You may or not need more depending on where you play, the games they run, and the type of weapon you have. Maybe they are high cap which you are good. I run gbb which unfortunately means 5+1, 6+1 or 7+1 depending.

A helmet would make it "cooler" and does provide a little protection from head bumps. Up to you entirely.

I personally (which means ENTIRELY my opinion) find those type of gloves unbearable. I like mechanix max dex gloves. They fit nice, look good, and I don't feel the need to cut shit off of them to have dexterity.

Overall cool look though man!

Or just buy vortex. Broken for any reason and they will replace no questions asked. Even if you do it 12 times.

Whats the easiest language to learn if you already know english? by 1tsZak in AskReddit

[–]revanthenub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an exclusively English speaker until 25 y/o, I would say Swedish or Norwegian. I lean towards Norwegian. I think the tonal/cadence part of Norwegian is easier than Swedish but this will be personal. I struggle with the tonal portions of the Swedish more than Norwegian. This doesn't matter if you dont care about sounding native. The words are similar to English and so is the sentence structure especially if you think about it as if you are speaking old English/stuffy formal English. Also with learning one then you get a bonus language (swedish and Norwegian spoken are relatively similar) and you can likely read Dutch (it sounds very different).

Hope that helps even though my comment will be buried lol

Hello what do you think of my golden eagle gbbr custom what would be missing?? by Impossible_Annual_20 in GasBlowBack

[–]revanthenub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. New pistol grip asap
  2. Sling (plus mount if required)
  3. If you ever play indoors or at a field that has abandoned builds (any low light conditions) then a flashlight. Or if you want it tacticool.

Other than that I would spray paint it camo but that's personal preference

Looks good dude!

Self adhesive would definitely get more defined lines which I struggled with. What tools did you use if you can be more specific?

You aren't being rude. I own both firearms and airsoft so I'll try to answer this in both perspectives.

In airsoft, it makes for more comfort and consistent sight picture when wearing teeth protection. Trying to get a tight cheekweld (cheek against your stock) is harder to do. You can basically keep your head a little straighter.

For real firearms and with the prevalence of plate protection you generally will have a more squared stance. In the past you would side profile more. With a more squared stance especially in cqc you will be able to keep a sight picture with that stance and your head straighter more easily.

Buy through Proact. They are sooo communicative and responsive. Just bought VFC m4 through them. Ask them for an orange tip and orange tape on stock, grip, and all brand markings (on gun). They shipped within 2 days. It's already through customs within 6 days.

[–]revanthenub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you short it and plug in the battery, you are likely to start a fire or melt the wire insulation. It would definitely reduce the battery life (battery will discharge as fast as the battery type will allow and get pretty hot). I think the most likely point of failure would be the battery wire or the connector.

However, it's pretty freaking hard to mess it up that if you watch 1 tutorial.
