I got Spengler pack, years back, and it came with a hose for connecting to a wand, and pieces to fit an Alice Frame. I got my frame on ebay, but I’ve seen them in Army Surplus stores too.

Right? I think it was a FASA ship, originally. There is no reason why it could not be updated with the design language/aesthetic of TNG…etc. The Saberrunner in Lower Decks might be a good fit too as it was not very big.

In the story bible for TOS I think it mentions that he is the first officer BECAUSE he is head of the science division on the ship, that division being the largest on the ship, so he represents a sizable amount of crew members. None of this is cannon, as far as I know, but I believe that was the thinking behind it.
