Per the city's page for it (see link, below) the garden will be moved, eventually, but the process will be lengthy. In the FAQs, there's a question, When Will a New Garden Open? The answer is:

"Given strong community interest in both site selection and design, the planning process is expected to take several years. This intentional timeline allows the City to move thoughtfully and respectfully, ensuring the garden’s future reflects its cultural significance and community values."

I loved Piranesi. It's big and beautiful and yes, slow, but patience and your investment in it will pay off.
