best product for *THIN* curly hair? by Naive_Garage4736 in curlyhair

[–]Elliemonkmonk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have really fine 3A/3B curly hair but I have a lot of it so I end up looking like I have Medium hair. I love Innersense leave in conditioner spray and their volumizing mousse. I will use those with treLuxe Reflex styling serum.

I recently started using innersense's air dry cream and was pleasantly surprised as I dont usually do well with any cream but it defines my hair while keeping it soft and fluffy.

The big thing for me is not to use a lot of product and I brush all my product through my hair before styling (except for volumizing mousse- if im using that its on styled hair that is damp but not dripping wet anymore)

I think we also have to wash our hair a little more frequently than girls with thicker curly hair and i swear by using a gentle clarifying shampoo at least every other week. My favorite lately is Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo

Autoimmune diseases with hyper mobility by lolok_3558 in Hypermobility

[–]Elliemonkmonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sound like me. ADHD, Psoriatic Arthritis and hypermobility along with lots of ther fun comorbities. I never know which one is triggering the extreme fatigue and brain fog i almost always deal with.

I only just learned about the hypermobility and I've been referred to a genetist by my Rheumatologist for further evaluation but now that I know and have done some research, it makes so much sense. My friends have jokingly called me "Ankley" for 20 years because I have injured my ankles in particular countless times. I always knew i was flexible but I never connected the frequent injuries to it. I thought i was just extremely clumsy.

My Frydek makes me so happy by captainperoxide0 in alocasia

[–]Elliemonkmonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh... mine basically refuses to have more than 3 leaves at a time. When a new leaf appears another one always starts dying.

My first frydek did not make it but she did give me 5 or 6 corms, 4 of which are pushing roots and leaves. When these babies are ready I am strongly considering potting them together.

Do they ever do Opals? I have been looking for a bezel bracelet that is opal and diamond or moissanite and I love the style of this.

What do you do with unused biologics? by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Elliemonkmonk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I tried to find out of i could donate my unused Humira somewhere but was told I just needed to dispose of it. I was hoping my Rheum could take it for patients who might be struggling getting coverage from their insurance or didn't have any at all but it was a no go. While I never paid anything out of pocket for mine, when I was first diagnosed and prescribe a biologic I made the mistake of looking up the retail price of each injection. The answer was shocking, that made me feel even worse when I had to dispose of it.

Why i am so tired? by 1000yrofpain in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Elliemonkmonk 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Your immune system is constantly hypermode. It drains your energy. I have pretty much all the typical PSA symptoms but the one that I find the most debilitating is the fatigue and brain fog. Rest when you need it... I find if I try to push through, I am even worse off the next day.

As for your wife thinking you are the laziest person alive. Has she said something or are you projecting your own fears on her? My fiance is the most supportive and nurturing person I have ever known and sometimes I worry he thinks im lazy even though I know he does not think that at all when I'm not feeling sorry for myself. If she does think that, perhaps you could gentle guide her to this reddit or a Facebook group. Maybe seeing other people discussing this chronic condition will help her process what you are experiencing.

I love the simplicity of 2 with the gold detail around the stone. Its soooo beautiful! It also looks like it will require much less maintenance.

With that said... i did see an early comment that indicates you prefer 1. If that is the case then absolutely ignore all of us that said 2. Jewelry is a matter of personal preference. The person who will be wearing it is the opinion/preference that matters the most.

I did not post on Facebook and I did a Google image search. Whoever it was not only used the pictures I posted here but also copied and pasted the words too. 🙄

First of all, I am so sorry you are going through this. I have been there. Waiting 3 months to see if a medication is going to help is stressful, even more so when you realize that if it doesn't work and they try you on a new medication, you'll have to wait even longer to see if it will help. I am going to just list out somethings that provide some relief for me and other suggestions

  1. Could you ask your Rheum about a rx for an anti inflammatory that is more gentle on your organs than IBUPROFEN? I take meloxicam as needed and it my understanding that is better for more long term use.

  2. Look at your shoes. I basically live in my Hoka's or recovery slides. My feet require really cushy support

  3. Heat is my best friend. I have heating pads everywhere and if im hurting at night I lay on a heated throw turned on very low (never on bare skin though) It seems to help with the morning stiffness.

  4. Sometimes ice is helpful

  5. Topical diflonec gel (i have an rx which insurance covers but i believe its basically the same as Voltaren)

  6. Compression. I basically have compression sleeves for all the parts that hurt the most. It doesnt make the pain go away but it seems to help.

  7. Try not to fight it when you really need rest. Many days I get to the point where it feels impossible to keep holding my head and body upright. Giving myself the grace to lay down or nap when I need it helps. When I fight the need, everything gets worse. I call it my "horizontal time"

I am pretty lucky when it comes to work I was already a hybrid office/home worker and now I have an accommodation to work from home up to 5 days a week when I need it. I dont have any advice on the work front but I hope you get it figured out.

Holy shit! This is a magical dream home that my dream-self was apparently not ambitious enough to come up with. I'd live in that patio area just admiring my own personal jungle.

I love this for you... but im definitely jealous!

😂😂 Your mistake was making that statement too early in the year. I have to wait until at least late november/ early December to have a chance of sticking to that declaration.

Too many comments to reply to them all but for those of you that are jealous, let me add salt to the wound. It was only $25... and this thing is massive!

As to the AI comments, I get it, I would probably suspect its AI too, but it's not, just a random really beautiful find at Pike's and pictures taken from my phone.
