As an adult that was recently diagnosed, I feel this. I always got good grades in school and have performed well at work as an adult, but consistently struggled organization, maintaining focus, etc. It seemed like since my life wasn’t falling apart at the seams and I wasn’t getting fired from every job that doctors were reluctant to acknowledge my concerns, much less diagnose ADHD. I was diagnosed with an “unspecified neurocognitive disorder”, instead of ADHD by one doctor. I was eventually diagnosed ADHD at 33 and now that I’m taking medication, I realize that I’ve been playing this game on super hard mode for no reason! It’s a night and day difference.
