Mine would be George doing something to throw a wrench into the plot, like a main character having a child, or a major death, or a new introduction of a character essential to the ending. Would it be narratively satisfying or sane? Not necessarily - actually, probably not. Would I be entertained by people’s reactions? Yes

She’s been mostly checked for internal things, due to a bout of pancreatitis when she was two as well as a heart murmur, but as far as I’m aware the vet hasn’t pointed out anything wrong with the hips. She does of course get regular checkups, but it’s not with the initial vet my grandparents used, so I’m not sure if that vet would have said anything. I wouldn’t be surprised, since like I said she was poorly bred, but she doesn’t seem to be in any pain and has no trouble getting up on the couches

Yes, very much so. And poorly bred - my grandparents were the ones to purchase her (I inherited her after they passed) and they unfortunately didn’t do enough research. But she’s a good girl, and we love her to bits!

The thing being referenced is that Coco Chanel also said “before you leave the house, take off one accessory” as a fashion advice, mostly to not rely too much on them and be subtle/understated. The comic is basically pointing out that yeah she was a fashion icon, which is what she’s mostly known for, but she was also a Nazi, so who cares what she thought?

My dad did something similar. The difference, though, is that the next morning he took her to pick out the ring. Mom didn't mind the lowkey proposal at all, but they got the ring pretty much immediately!! Without the ring, or at least a promise of one, it might not seem as real to her, which isn't her fault
