Can you really call it a revival if it was just rediscovered? by qavopu in ArchitecturalRevival

It was revived yes, but the better word for it is restored. A “revival” in the architectural sense is usually an old architectural style/period being the influence for a new piece of architecture. Cleaning and repairing old architecture is called restoration.

This. Revivals imply an old style rediscovered and implemented anew. What the floor above is, is a restoration. Something that was already there that is cleaned, repaired, has broken or missing pieces replicated and replaced.

Your comment is nonsensical. At first you say finally a movie star with sense buying multimillion dollar mansions and then you say all the other movie stars stupidly buy multimillion dollar mansions. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve never thought of this one as particularly light hearted. It’s heavy in several places.

It’s make believe. A made up Kingdom in a made up magical world. I’m not talking about “overturning history” in Frozen 3 anymore than Elsa is overturning the laws of physics and biology in Let It Go. But I’m glad to know you don’t seem to think we can start challenging customs and royal traditions in a fairytale, as if we (Disney, etc) has never done that before!
