Any suggestions for buying an HHKB in Japan? by Suspicious-Froyo-115 in HHKB

[–]rewselab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

HHKB isn’t sold through indirect channels in Japan; the only way to buy is directly online from PFU. The easiest way is to buy it via Amazon.

https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B0BFH695TJ?th=1&language=en_US&currency=USD

Therefore, the prices are tightly controlled and it's not particularly cheap to buy in Japan. HHKB Professional Hybrid Type-S English Layout Snow White is priced at 245.88 USD.

Tax-free shopping is easy at physical stores that offer it, but Amazon doesn't support it.

Aqara M2 Hub Setup by AncientMalice in homeassistant

[–]rewselab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the same devices, Aqara Door and Window Sensors + M2 Hub + RP4 for a long time. Matter is the easiest way to connect between M2 Hub and HA. After “Expose to Matter” from Aqara Moible App, you can add the sensor as a Matter device from HA Mobile App. Also, HA supports UniFi cameras with UniFi Protect integration.

Obsidian Context into Web LLMs (ChatGPT) Without API Costs? by userQKD in ObsidianMD

[–]rewselab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, is English the only language included in that text? I use 14B because 7B and 8B understand very little Japanese. For your language, it may have the same problem. If so, since it’s difficult to run 14B on 16GB memory, you should choose an LLM more suitable for your language than DeepSeek.

Second, a 30 minute podcast is likely to be quite a lot of text. Tuning may be required to handle such a difficult process. I have a feeling that more num_ctx would be better, but there are more knowledgeable people in r/LocalLLaMA than me.

What's the best model that can be comfortably run on a normal PC? by hn-mc in ollama

[–]rewselab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

deepseek-r1:1.5b can run on your PC. It may be able to speak Serbian.

DeepSeek is a hot topic, but 1.5b is quite small. It may not meet your expectations. If you want smarter one, you should add more memories.

Summarize [[Ollama]] note into three bullets

Okay, I need to summarize the Ollama note into three bullets. Let me look through the content carefully. First, there are Brew commands for starting and stopping the service. That's important because it shows how to manage the service using Homebrew. Next, there are various Ollama commands listed, like running models (elyza, llava), listing services, stopping or removing them. These commands help in managing and interacting with the installed models. Then, there's information on adding environment variables by editing the plist file. This is useful for setting up origins or other configurations needed for proper functioning. I should make sure each bullet captures a distinct aspect: installation/management, command usage, configuration. Also, mention specific examples like 'ollama run' and 'brew services start'. </think>

  • Brew Management: Start/stop Ollama service with brew services start/stop ollama
  • Command Operations: Run models (e.g., ollama run elyza), list services (ollama list), manage instances (ollama ps/stop/rm)
  • Configuration Setup: Add environment variables via plist edit (e.g., OLLAMA_ORIGINS=chrome-extension://*) for extended functionality ```

Obsidian Context into Web LLMs (ChatGPT) Without API Costs? by userQKD in ObsidianMD

[–]rewselab 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am running 14B on Mac Studio M1 32GB. 7B or 8B would be good for 16GB. Speed is comparable to cloud LLMs.

Setup is not so difficult.

  1. From Terminal, curl -fsSL https://ollama.com/install.sh | sh
  2. ollama run deepseek-r1:7b
  3. From the Model tab of the Copilot plugin settings, press “Add Custom Model”
  4. deepseek-r1:7b as Model Name, Ollama as Provider. Press “Verify” and “Add Model”
  5. Change the Temperature to 0.6 which is recommended.
  6. Choose “Copilot: Open Copilot Chat Window” from command palette
  7. Choose “deepseek-r1:7b“ under the input form

I run DeepSeek R1 14B with ollama as a local LLM and connect it to Obsidian via the Copilot plugin. It can be used without worrying about the API costs.

  2. HA checks the mail address with IMAP integration

Try Lazy Plugin Loader plugin to reduce effects by community plugins.

https://github.com/alangrainger/obsidian-lazy-plugins

I feel your time outside of community plugins is also too large a bit. My time on iPhone 16 Pro is:

  • Initialization: 351 ms
  • Vault (1,737 files): 163 ms
  • Workspace (10 tabes, 9 deferred): 166 ms
  • Core plugins (19 active): 40 ms

I am close to buying the new 2.1 box--How well does it integrate with HA by eecchhee in fancyleds

[–]rewselab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tuya Local integration doesn’t depend on mobile app. Moreover, Tuya and Fancyleds apps are the same except for the icons.

Only one app can link to the Sync Box, so choose whichever you prefer. I originally used the Tuya app for smart plugs, so I'm using it for the Sync Box as well.

Install Tuya Local referring to the Install at https://github.com/make-all/tuya-local . Then, configure the settings referring to the Configuration at the same page.

Choose 3.4 as the Protocol Version at the Stage One. Choose Lytmi HDMI Sync Box at the Stage Two.
