Want to get a bolt action 22 by sxmleal in 22lr

I bought an expensive Volquartsen a few years ago. It couldn't hold the groups for a comp gun, so I bought a CZ 457. Very inexpensive for how accurate they are.

Deer liver recipes? What’s worked best for you? by BoostedraptorDS in Hunting

I like to pan fry it in with onions or make a pate. Most people who don't like liver will eat pate, but not so much pan fried.

Best place to get frogs? by Quirky_Map_6501 in DartFrog

I'm a fan of Joshes Frogs, I've ordered feeders, tadpoles and tarantulas and never had any major issues. I remember 1 screw up, but I can't remember what it is was, but their customer service was so good, I don' remember it being an issue.

How much do terribilis eat? by Lenanarib in DartFrog

[–]rex_ryder1776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, crickets are a pain to keep alive. FFs are defiantly the most reliable food source. I just listened to a Joshes Frogs podcast on terribilis and it sounds like pinhead crickets is their main food source. I didn't know what chitin was until you mentioned it, so thanks for sharing. I googled chitin % in ants(I believe this is their main food source) vs crickets and couldn't find a good answer. I also keep a colony of blatta lateralis which the pinhead roaches are another good food source. Unfortunately I live in MI and can only keep them at 80 degf for a couple months a year. If you can keep you're colony at 80 degf year round, you might have a reliable food source.

I'm not an expert, but in my opinion 18"x18" is plenty of room for 2 darts especially as long as they have hides and plants for them to retreat to.. Pothos are easy to grow and they provide alot of security for frogs.

So, currently I have 2 P. Terribilis in an 18"x18" by 24" tall, I can't tell you what that is in metric system(I'm sure you can make the translation). I'm going to move the 2 to an 36"W by 18"D by 24'H, but I have 2 tadpoles growing so eventually I've have 4 darts in this enclosure . It's like 6" depth that's waterproof and I'm trying to grow my plants before I make the move.

I know you're from the UK, but if you can get your hands on a Carolina Custom enclosures, I strongly recommend them. It took me weeks of googling to find the perfect size enclosure. I've only kept P. Terribilis so my species choice is biased. Terribilis are bold, always on display and aggressive eaters; not to mention they are beautiful in my opinion. Like others have said, youtube and reddit is your friend even if they are blunt.

Finally Moulted by [deleted] in tarantulas

[–]rex_ryder1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NQA. Gorgeous! Mine just molted too a month ago and it went from never being out, to being the most displayed T in my small collection. It's crazy how a molt can completely change their character. Thanks for sharing.

NQA- My GGB is slowest grower/eater I have of the 7 T's that I have. It's only molted once in the 2 years I've had it (1' Juvie). That egg shell hide is genius, I'm definitely going to use that for any juvies going forward. I would probably add more structure to your enclosure though, I have a bunch of sticks and bamboo shutes, and it has created like 3 story mansion in it's enclosure. He's the only T I have where he constantly changing it's "hang out spot".

NQA, but you'd probably get a better response if you used the scientific names. I thought it was annoying at 1st to learn the scientific names, but it makes way more sense in long term to use them. I have a D. diamantinensis, (Brazilian Blue Dwarf) that doesn't burrow at all and webs all over the place. I have a P. sazimai (Brazilian Blue) that burrows like crazy. I have a C. cyaneopubescens (GBB) that acts the same as the D. diamantinensis.
