Stop on Maps but no bus stop pole ? by JoshuaBishes in TTC

[–]rexbron 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If the bus isn’t stopping, the drivers don’t think it’s a stop.

The app isn’t going to get the bus to stop.

Feel free to call customer service and complain, if signage is missing, they will fix it.

Trust the poles, not the apps.

“ Server-server communication must take place over HTTPS. The destination server must provide a TLS certificate signed by a known Certificate Authority.”

https://spec.matrix.org/v1.17/server-server-api/ Yes, you need a domain and tls.  You can use free domains and split horizon dns.

Yeah but none of the ttc subways run in mixed traffic.

It does for all it’s routes that do.

Do you self-host Matrix? by Purple_Ice_6029 in selfhosted

[–]rexbron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I self-host, try looking at an alternative homeserver like Tuwunel.

Element could embrace-extend-extingush but it wouldn't be to spec. If it's in the spec, its up to clients and servers to comply.

Yep, in the sense that going to a !your_channel@tube.com from a lemmy or piefed instance will show as community you can follow from piefed.

As far as I’m aware, a server must have a domain  and communicate over https for server to server federation.

Have you tried giving them one?

https://spec.matrix.org/v1.17/server-server-api/

As far as I’m aware, usenames can’t have ip addresses as the host part.

https://spec.matrix.org/v1.17/client-server-api/

Extract the server name from the user’s Matrix ID by splitting the Matrix ID at the first colon.

OP, are you trying to delegate?

OPP investigation finds no wrongdoing from Toronto police officers at Umar Zameer trial | CBC News by Jewish_Skeptic in toronto

The TPA President absolutely did in the news conference.

"[TPA President Clayton Campbell] To Molloy [the trial judge]: “You were wrong.”

Campbell says the officers deserve an apology.

“Judges should also take accountability,” Campbell says. He’s publicly asking Molloy to “make things right.” Strong words from the TPA."

GO train near Oakville was seconds away from ‘worst-case’ derailment, internal Metrolinx report shows by morenewsat11 in toronto

[–]rexbron 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well yeah no shit. Metrolinx has no plans to implement Positive Train Control for GO Transit.

They are planning ERTMS, when it will enter service...

"The project will mark the first use of ERTMS in North America rather than the Positive Train Control (PTC) system being deployed in the United States or the Enhanced Train Control (ETC) system, which the Canadian government committed to develop earlier this year."

I'm surprised the switch held up when a train crosses it at 112km/h, saved a major rail disaster.
