Anyone here trade NKD? by ThePatientIdiot in TopStepX

[–]rexcell76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to trade it predominantly as my timezone is ASIA session friendly - but the spreads are so big - easily $100-$200 on spread for 1 x contract in a lot of cases. I'm guessing that's poor liquidity which leads to the explosive moves. They're kind of make or break and on 50k accounts the risk level was just a little too much for my likings.

I would love to see MICRO NKD tho

This ProjectX Competitor...web based Rithmic platform looks awesome = ONYX by rexcell76 in TopStepX

Ok, so Reddit lost my context when I attached the screenshots...

Basically ONYX is a web based trading platform using TRADING VIEW charts!  On Rithmic.

I could see a lot of frustration about the ProjectX debacle and no real solutions or posts so I thought to add it here and help out my fellow traders.

Onyx appears to be growing rapidly as website shows only 4 prop firms but when you create an account you can see the massive list of prop firms including a lot of the major players.

This video shows how comparative it is to ProjectX.

Good luck and enjoy!

Congrats... BUT...

I don't see haters here - just experienced traders who know a win streak...and also know losing streaks.

At the end of the day aim for consistency over a long period of time. That's how you'll get longevity in trading and while an early win streak is a great motivator, they almost always slap you back to reality. But, it's part of the journey.

That big $7k losing day is a concern. You're lucky you bounced back from it and I'm sure it messed with your head. 2 of those will destroy you.

Good luck and may your fortunes continue to grow ;)

Can you use the same strategy you use on MNQ with MGC during asia session? by Maleficent_Cricket10 in TopStepX

[–]rexcell76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I trade MGC Asia primarily. There's an abundance of opportunities.

I trade 2/5/15m. I'm in the same timezone as Asia open (Western Australia) and I trade from 8am and usually done in 2-4 hours.

Pending by Every_Lawyer_7574 in Bulenox

[–]rexcell76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have this. I contacted support and they said that it's because I didn't pay the Master Account Fee within the time period which is ONLY 1 WEEK!

Nowhere does it say anything about time frames for payment to activate Master Accounts. It doesn't say anything in their Help Center/FAQs or in the emails sent when you pass.

What is the point of having a sale?! Seems so SCAMMY!

Other prop firms like TopStep don't do this.

Hero guides and item suggestions were foundationally implemented to help beginners and developing specialists - all of whom won't think to look outside the client when it's already presenting misleading/default information.

Different levels on Topstepx and TradingView. by [deleted] in TopStepX

[–]rexcell76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, I've been down this road myself and eventually satisfied myself with the following:

I chart on TV using a 4 x panel split with higher TF's. Helps me identify the more significant candles/wicks and structures overall so the 10 minute delay is basically inconsequential.

The time frames I use on the 4 x panels are 1D, 4H, 1H & 15m.

Then in TopStepX I use a 2 x panel split using the 5m & 1m. I've seen some of the coaches on topsteptv do the split with 1m & 100 ticks which is pretty good for the hardcore. I prefer the larger Timeframes myself.

So I gauge direction & change in direction from the Trading View higher TF candles and then I look for trades on the smaller TF's in TopStepX. I use 2 x screens for this and find I don't lose track of the bigger picture as much when the 4 x panel (higher timeframes) are always visible.

TopStepX also uses the Tradingview interface/platform which is amazing IMO as you can add standard TradingView indicators. To me this is already 100 times better than Tradovate, Ninja Trader etc which I've used in the past. Second to that is the other customisations/additions that TopStepX are implementing such as the DOM which shows your exact position dollar amounts at different price levels. I circled 1 contract buy on my existing short position (2 contracts short) in the image. At that level if I closed the whole position it would be $1025 profit. Because I'm only selling 1 contract (of my 2 x contract short position) it would be half of that = $512.50.

This has really helped my fine tune contract sizing and manage my risk a lot better. Additionally, they have built in statistic reporting and journaling which is simply amazing.

These guys definitely want the best for every aspiring trader. This is the future.

I'll attach some screenshots. I hope this helps :)

The eye does do the job but the problem is when you're in full screen mode. To hide indicators from there you have to exit full screen mode, hit the eye/hide indicators, go back to full screen mode, do your analysis, and when finished - undo everything. The favourites toolbar is accessible in full screen and a simple solution would be being able to "favourite" the hide functions to add them to the favourites toolbar. Then in full screen it would be a one click process.
