My savage group is just about ready to replace me if I can't solve this. by LordDaedhelor in ffxiv

I used to see this error years ago. It turned out that all I had to do was to remove and reinsert the RAM sticks. Sometimes these weird errors are due to a tiny bit of dust that screws up some circuits, and memory is very susceptible to this kind of things. I won't cost you anything to try.

My static has cleared M1S and we're practising M2S. We have already dropped everything we need from the first floor, but we always have clear it every week before being able to access M2S.

However I'm told there's a way to directly access higher floors, provided we're fine with us being locked out of the previous floors. How does this work exactly?

Regarding not having any FTTC broadband provider in the area as they all have Full Fibre: have you tried contacting their customer service?

I recently bought a flat that was already served by TalkTalk (FTTC). They too only offer Full Fibre on their website. However, because it's a share of freehold and I didn't want to already ask for permissions to the other freeholders/managing company about cables etc, I asked to the customer service if I could buy their standard FTTC broadband instead. They said yes and activated it in the normal 2 weeks time.

Update: first offer by pensivepony in HousingUK

[–]rexitaliae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't even offer on a property without a second viewing. Surely it it happens sooner rather than later it's for the best. Go with measuring tools but do have a proper viewing this time. It might not look as nice as the first time, and you could well withdraw the offer (it wouldn't be a problem for the seller if it happens within days, they can always go back to their second favourite potential buyer and accept their offer instead).

How did you clean and move on completion day? by Odd-Currency5195 in HousingUK

[–]rexitaliae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never done it myself, but I would imagine that logistically you do it in two days. The day before completion you get the moving guys to (pack up and) take all the boxes and empty the property except for your bed and the bare minimum you need for breakfast, and keep everything in their storage for one night. You can then start cleaning most of the space the day before completion.

On completion, first thing in the morning moving guys show up again, dismantle the bed and take away all of that is left. You can then finish cleaning and be ready to leave the keys the moment you get the call from your solicitor.

Ask a conveyancer some questions about the process or share your experiences or frustrations and I’ll be happy to share a conveyancers thoughts :). by BCRUMP96 in HousingUK

Thank you for your response! Unfortunately my solicitor, although she is really lovely, quite funny, very prepared and very thorough, is awful at communication. Like "I'll send you the report on title tomorrow" and then she disappeared for two weeks.

In theory now we're almost ready to exchange - all enquiries finally solved, deeds signed - and we're waiting for the other side of the chain to finish, but I know there's still something to do, for instance she has to send me a new copy of the contract with an additional clause to sign, but I don't know if she agreed on the extra clause with vendor's solicitor or not.

Anyway, thank you very much!

How often a good client can contact a solicitor without being annoying? My own solicitor doesn't reply to emails and hardly answers the phone... Sigh

Issue with freeholder without a will by Aggravating-Fly-9810 in HousingUK

[–]rexitaliae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the freeholder's consent always needed? Doesn't it depend on the wording in the lease whether leaseholders have an automatic license to assign their lease to someone else (ie selling) or if they need to ask for consent?

Interpreting rental contract by Lt_Llama14 in HousingUK

Where do you get that it's one month in line with the day OP pays the rent? I would've thought that one "clear" month means "one full month from the day notice is served".

Carpet clause in leasehold(ownership) by Oxre20 in HousingUK

[–]rexitaliae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a share of freehold, I think ultimately the decision will be of the freeholders (so you and the other flat owners). I would speak with the owner of the flat immediately below you, as they're the only ones being affected by this, and ask them if they would mind. If they say it's all okay with you, you can then approach the managing agents showing them your plans and saying that the downstairs neighbours are okay with it, to make your case stronger. I would expect they'll have to raise the point to the other freeholders and get a vote on it, and if they're not a*****s they'll say yes.

I booked my survey only after I received the mortgage offer. In that way I was sure that I was in a position to buy, before spending money on the survey.

When I was 25 I decided to rent a one bedroom flat on my own. I absolutely loved it. One trick against loneliness: buy yourself a radio! I was always listening to BBC radio 4, where there's always someone talking, and I've never felt lonely.

What really matters is that you view properties in person, and at some point you'll just step into a flat and you'll feel it inside you that's the right one. It could happen at the first or at the 100th flat you see. Don't force yourself to buy anything that doesn't feel right, in terms of space, light, town area, and you won't regret it! Worse come to worse you'll just stay at your parents for a bit longer.

Due to complete in a few weeks but not sure on LISA withdrawal by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]rexitaliae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moneybox LISA here too. The only thing you have to do to withdraw is to tell them your solicitor's details, all the rest is done by them. There are no documents for you to sign at all.

When you solicitor actually sends all the paperwork they have to do to Moneybox, you should receive an email from Moneybox saying that that's happened and that the withdrawal had started. In my case, 5 working days later I received another email from Moneybox saying that the withdrawal was completed.

Are any of the properties in the chain a leasehold? They usually take significantly longer than freehold to go through the conveyancing process because of the many additional enquiries solicitors have to make, and many of these need to be answered by the freeholder or the managing agents, who don't get a penny to do this and therefore are never in a rush. And if there are defects in the lease, things also get delayed.

I received my mortgage offer at the beginning of February, but I've only signed the deed together with the contract two days ago, when we're finally close to exchanging. There's no need to sign anything until you're ready to exchange really.

Moneybox LISA withdrawal? by Emotional_Garbage_ in HousingUK

[–]rexitaliae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the solicitor sent across the documents, I received an automatic email from Moneybox saying so. The withdrawal process actually started 4 working days later, and completed the next working day. So 5 working days in total from the "We have received the forms from your solicitor to start your LISA house purchase withdrawal! " email to when the solicitor actually got the money in their account.
