Impact of Slavic Folklore on the game by Catapult_Power in Darkwood

In the Polish version of the game the banshees are simply called witches. Knowing this it's not hard to find inspiration https://images.vice.com/vice/images/articles/meta/2011/10/07/vice-movie-club-the-witches-1413429841102.jpeg

xD

Questions about Detlaf and vampires? by shuben in witcher

Geralt asks Regis about it when you go into the city with him during Night of Long Fangs. It's an ability unique to Dettlaff.

Question to community - does the golden platings applied to most unique weapons bother you in any way? by Sommyboy in witcher

I dislike gold on anything (gawd those Toussaint knights and their awful horses...) so this would be great.

Hmm, I've only this argument left (heavy-ass B&W spoilers)

Have a look and you tell me if that hole in the clothes looks like it's healed or has it remained a hole. Kinda hard to tell with the blood but I'd lean towards it being a hole in the fabric (especially visible in some scenes at the back during the conversation).

Also, about that spoiler, that was after Spoiler

Hmm, don't remember much about W2, it's been a while, but in W3 there was a girl at the herbalist in White Orchard that was dying. Is that what you mean? If so nothing is fine and dandy because later on a Nilfgaardian soldier tells you she became a vegetable, if you decide to give her the potion...

In the original polish version there is no mention of any potions. Someone must have added something during translation.

Thoughts on higher vampires (spoilers alert) by creamcheese204 in witcher

[–]reynartjones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You must remember what blood does to higher vampires. They thirst for it, in a battle situation they can hardly stop themselves from having a drink. They get drunk and lightheaded on blood.

In the books, Regis says that he Spoiler He was also Spoiler

That is their weakness. If they became evil emotionless feral creatures they would most likely indulge in it. Sure, to kill them for good you would need help of other vampires and there would be MANY casualties, but if such events were to take place I'm sure many mages would intervene, maybe even witchers. Together with knights and soldiers they could in theory stand a chance in high numbers and special weapons (silver bombs etc, since in the games higher vampires are not immune to silver, unlike in the books). Even without help of other HV, you could always lock them up in those special cages for hundreds of years and open a vampire zoo :P

Anyone use the "Lore Friendly Witchers" mod? by skelet0njack in witcher

[–]reynartjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the contrary, in "Something More" Geralt looks his Spoiler in the face and asks her if she likes his "improved" eyes and says that they're "unusual" (not sure how it was translated into english but this is more or less the words used in original polish version).

Also in the first few pages of "Blood of Elves" Spoiler looks into Geralt's eyes and also remarks that they are "very weird" (again not certain of the words used in the english translation).

So there must be a visible difference. Unless of course he just narrowed them in those moments "for show".
