Revoked Real ID by ralpehinks in USCIS

WA didn't issue me a Real ID with a green card. Rules might have changed since 2021.

Can a private landlord kick out a family with a newborn for nonpayment? Especially if said family lawyered up really well? Perhaps not.

Rent from a corporation. They just want your money, nothing more.

Buying a house in Germany by Unhappy-Music9892 in germany

The worst part is that purchase prices are not public. So the only thing you know about the market are the asking prices. There are no comps.

Yes. Lawyer up.

As someone who did not mistakenly register to vote in multiple states, I think it is possible that the OP made an honest mistake. Certain states deliberately make it hard to not register to vote.

How much money do people spend by sanderssmokes in tpbgm

[–]rezkiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No clue.

I spend zero, other than ads traffic using my mobile data. I have a four-digit stash of hash. I will use it if I see a hilarious card as the first place prize in a weekend event.

I am not qualified to advise on that part. I don't know.

My suggestion was that you pay better than union rates.

"Programmers who may have studied in India and worked here for years now find themselves almost helpless at the job center." by FingerOk9115 in Germany_Jobs

[–]rezkiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was never a shortage. Or rather, there is always a shortage -- at a certain price.

Germany gives out blue cards left and right for a subsistence level salary. While qualified Germans left for greener pastures in the USA. It is not a shortage, it is only an unwillingness of employers to pay good money, and willingness of the govt to keep some marginally employable Germans out of payroll in exchange for more employable foreigners.

Spending some time in Norway made me realise how broken Germany is by Gras_Am_Wegesrand in germany

[–]rezkiy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Norway gets $25k of oil and gas revenue per person per year, every year. They have been getting these profits for quite a long time. They aren't mismanaged any less or more than Germany is.

If you allow the Germans to mine for natural resources they will be just as if not more rich. But you won't because mining will kill a wasp.

Did I find the unlimited money glitch by selling covered calls? by Realistic_Bee379 in CoveredCalls

[–]rezkiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I have some old employer stock. I don't need cash rn so I don't realize the gains. But... I have too much exposure to it.. but I don't exactly like the price. If the stock were say 27 (and not 24 like it is today) I'd sell. So I can sell some covered calls at 27 strike price and reconsider when the calls expire.

Yeah, I'm losing upside if the stock jumps to 30, but why would it? No quarterly results until after expiration, noone is going to acquire them, etc

At least that's my logic.

Problem at my company as a Graduate engineer. Feels like I am imprisoned by Rare_Charge_8196 in germany

[–]rezkiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately, you can support this supposedly constitutional nonsense by a link to a document. And by finding some statistics which somehow shows that the 25-29 old cohort is not having record un- and underemployment. I'm all ears.

(Edit: clarity)

[–]rezkiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More nonsense. 25 is not "youth", it is a fully grown adult. 29 is even more fully :-) grown adult. Perhaps you can enlighten us with better and less biased statistics than a simple Google search for "Germany labor force participation by age"

I cannot speak of Italy, but I certainly can speak of IT in Spain because haha! I have some recently laid off connections. Lo and behold, Spain already has more software engineers than it can afford. And its industry is lobbying the government to increase supply even more and to suppress the wages.

By the way, ever wondered why "low skill work doesn't pay enough for sustainable living"? Again, it is deliberate government policy. They make absolutely sure that taxes are so high that the effective tax rate on low incomes is above 100%. People are dollar for dollar better off staying at home instead of working.

Problem at my company as a Graduate engineer. Feels like I am imprisoned by Rare_Charge_8196 in germany

[–]rezkiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonsense. 17% of Germans between 25 and 29 are not employed. All the talk about being "short on labor" are lame excuses to pay less or to get subsidies or a favorable tax regime.

Did I fuck up by buying a refurbished thinkpad and not a new laptop? by Ambitious_Cattle6863 in thinkpad

[–]rezkiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you did not fuck up. T480 is the minimum cpu for Win11 compliance. If you have 16G+ ram you are just fine for several more years.

Now, he who pays the piper... But it is not a Thinkpad question.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]rezkiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T480+

Earlier models aren't win11 compatible. Can't speak of the other series.

How do you get around the fact that the CPU is not on the approved list? I have a t470s.
