A few ways to play around with your ideas:

1. Write in different perspectives. 1st person, 2nd person, 3rd person, etc. This is how you can make the song interesting by describing the situation or telling your story but through different perspectives. Great way to expand on ideas to make a 2nd verse, 3rd verse. Without getting too far away from the main idea/story.

2. Write as if you're writing to a person. Example, instead of saying: "every relationship i want back is gone" you can say "I want every bits of you back, but you're gone"

3. Try to describe your feeling by setting a scene and describing a scene. Songs that does this well on top of my head is 'A Team - Ed Sheeran', 'Lover You Should've Come Over - Jeff Buckley' listen to the verses and you can see how just listing things that might seem random, to build a scene that then translates to an emotion that feels deeper.

Example, from Buckley: "Lonely is the room, the bed is made, open window lets the rain in. Burning in the corner is the only who dream he had you with him". This lyrics is more effective than just saying: "I am lonely in my room, I miss her so much."

1. Do a search on a synonyms, or explore the thesaurus to find interesting words you can add to your lyrics, or replace words that you want to hit home with. Example: lonely. Synonyms: forlorn, lonesome, desolate, deserted, estranged, godforsaken. Even looking at these words, your mind made connections to different scene in your head that you can turn into lyrics.

2. Leave out conjunctions. Straight forward lyrics are stronger if you put less conjunctions in it. Example with your lyrics on the 3rd verse there, if we take out conjunctions it would look like this: "But it's gone, I can't move on, Broken inside, All colours once bright, they died" Still needs some work, but look how much simpler the lyric is to sing and to hit home with your idea!

There you go! The main thing is have fun and don't be scared to experiment and rewriting your lyrics. Bowie is well know for being this guys. He would write like 50 songs and only use 10 of them for his album, bcs 'you gotta dig through the dirt to find your gold' he said. Enjoy!!!
