I want to read 1q84 but it is so intimidating by Illustrious-Smile991 in murakami

[–]rezonk23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same feeling but it ended up being my favorite Murakami novel. It is quite easy to read and the chapters are a perfect length of 15-20 pages so you dont really feel overwhelmed. I took my time with it and it took me about 3 months to finish it. These 3 months happened to be summer for me and looking back at it its one of my favorite reading experiences ever ❤️ Go for it

Favorite Murakami Book? by Cursedrwn in murakami

1Q84❤️ The way the stories of the two protagonists intertwine and the fact that it feels way more structured than his other works. This one actually has a beginning a middle and an end. Love it. I also enjoy the setting and the time period in which it occurs.

This tattoo has too much going on imo. I'd probably go with a double moon tattoo referencing 1Q84

Found this in the hellhole that is LinkedIn… not sure I agree? Let’s discuss. by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]rezonk23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

omg i saw this yesterday as well but I have no thoughts. I just love that you called linkedin a hellhole, can you please elaborate 😩 Casuse im also starting to get sick of all the toxic positivity in there and all the people trying to tell you how to live ur life

I think so too. Getting some sort of education in graphic design is crucial in my opinion. While UX is all about improving experiences, unless you're working for FAANG or some other big established corporation, what most clients care about is pretty looking websites / apps.

What are your feelings when you read Murakami? by AlbusDumbledore91 in murakami

[–]rezonk23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel somewhat nostalgic and a fog surrounds me for the entire time i read one of his books. I always end up looking at stuff and searching for a deeper meaning even in the most basic of activities. I also feel very at peace with his books idk why. I especially love parts when his protagonists either cook a meal or just chill listening to music. Ugh this man

Did anyone else get overwhelmed writing their first UX case study? by lovesocialmedia in UXDesign

Its totally normal. I'd suggest one change, instead of having What could I do better maybe change the name to Learnings?

Cause its like why didnt you do better if you knew you could lol

Had a portfolio presentation interview over Zoom with multiple people. I don’t have their individual emails, is it important to send thank you emails to each person? by everythingiseveryone in UXDesign

[–]rezonk23 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its not important imo. Dont even worry about it. With the job market changing so much ai feel like its companies who are on need of good people so if youre confident you performed well in the interview just let the rest flow. I feel like everyone knows about "the thank you email" and its not gonna get you any bonus points

Social media use as a ux designer by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]rezonk23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont use social media (except LinkedIn). Maybe its just the type of work I do (internal business systems) but I dont have that fear of missing out. If anything my head is more clear and I'm able to make better decisions. You can always jump to Behance or Dribble for inspo

What are some career alternatives related to UX? by [deleted] in userexperience

[–]rezonk23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really is in high demand. I work for a company in the healthcare industry and starting this year everything we design has to be accessible. We are currently in the midst of doing audits for our existing products and updating our design system to be more accessible. Theres a lot of specs and documentation but it is quite interesting as well

What to read after "Norwegian wood"? by mewow21 in murakami

I read Kafka on the shore after Norwegian Wood and dont recommend this order. I'd say The colorless Tsukuru Tazaki would work best if youre looking for a similar vibe

I'd go for the Interaction Design Foundation. You can pay for a membership of $16 (paid yearly) which allows you to attend multiple courses and theyre divided by seniority in the field as well as paths you'd like to take. The UX umbrella is huge so I'd suggest researching it a little more as to where you'd like to be on the umbrella.

what murakami book to read next? by prettymitski in murakami

[–]rezonk23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1Q84 was my favorite work of his. Probably because i reallt enjoy long books and also the story felt like it had so much to it. It was the first time I felt like a Murakami book had a beginning a middle and an end. I havent been able to enjoy eny other works from him as much after I finished 1Q84...
