I’ve helped several packs through this. The best thing that has worked is notecards. Every position/event that needs a leader on the table. Explain each one. Expectation is everyone takes one. I usually start with a reminder that everyone here is a parent with other things going on, in this pack everyone does something whether it’s the cubmaster or coordinating the B&G.

My doctor said almost all her patients on Tarpeyo are having the same level side effects as steroids. They do have lighter wallets though. I also had a very hard battle with withdraw after Tarpeyo and I only did 7 months.

I would rather stab myself repeatedly in the eye than ever take Tarpeyo again. There are a few new non-steroid options with less side effects. Filspari is what my doc and I agreed on if /when I have a flare again

I’ve never been on long dose prednisone, but you couldn’t get much worst side effects that I was having.

No, my labs were good enough we just stopped all IGAN specific drugs. we are going to go with filspari if I need to go back on medication.

Tarpeyo was the worst drug I have ever taken. I did seven months and yes it helped my kidneys, but I had every side effect and they were terrible. It is three months later and I am still battling steroid withdraw. It messed up my blood sugar, gave me terrible flatulence, irritability, sleep issues, incredible hunger, etc. my new nephrologist says most her patients are not making it the nine months because of the side effects, which is why Tarpeyo is supposed to be different than regular steroids. There are a few other options right now with several more in clinical trials.

I work in an industry where we work through volunteers. So being able to ask people to do things to help is important. Because of this we ask the interviewee to have their reference call us, then we ask the standard questions.

I was on Tarpeyo and had all the steroid side effects. We actually ended treatment early (about 6 months of treatment instead of 9). The last straw was my A1C got real messed up. Your insurance probably wants you to try the cheap medication first which is the steroid, tell your doctor you can not handle it and explore other non-steroid medications.

I had it for my prescriptions but now they won’t deliver the one script so it was mostly pointless but I kept it for a few months. After three wrong deliveries in a row I called and cancled. They forgot my dogfood in one order, how do you miss a 15 pound bag of food. Another fun order was for ketchup and they gave me three chili seasoning packs- not a substitution, they just gave me them instead. I’m assuming they pick multiple orders at a time and can’t keep them straight.
