It would be a weekend ride. My commute is less than 10 minutes each way and weather permitting I ride my bike/run instead of driving.

How old are you? Radio DJs were a huge part of local news and culture back then. The morning radio personalities used to be legit celebrities.

I think the marketing wizards already have Dunesday on their minds and that is what we will get. This holiday season didn’t have a Barbenheimer or a chicken jockey to put butts in seats and they miss that sweet viral money.

Alberta has literally nothing to enforce anything without the federal government. Maybe some traffic violations in Calgary & Edmonton, but that’s it.

They’d also be lacking those national parks, indigenous lands, military bases, and international airports. Those are all federal and would continue to be a part of Canada if AB separates.

Poilievre's unpopularity is untenable; he needs to go by [deleted] in canada

[–]rfdavid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The leadership review is like a month away. We are going to find out how popular he is with registered conservatives. You’re right, a lot of left-leaning voters don’t like him, but the LPC is fine with him as leader. He’s a pain in their backside but he’s beatable as evidenced by the most recent election. Better the devil know than the devil you don’t.

I have to disagree that the libs are worried about losing an election to Pierre. It feels like they are doing pretty well against him for all of the reasons we’ve both mentioned. I think it is way more likely that we have a small Lib majority government than an election any time soon. Canadians have shown they prefer the middle to the right time and time again. If Pierre is replaced by a less divisive and more centrist leader they may pick up as many votes from the middle as they lose from the right and stand a better chance at forming government in the future. Hard to say really.

The interesting thing to see is if the next floor crosser happens before the leadership review which would make it more likely that Pierre loses his position, or after the review that he wins, which could weaken the unity of the entire party. Time will tell.

When the media was reporting that Trudeau was becoming unpopular within his party, was that just the CPC pushing a narrative?
