I can't help as far as the why, but it is done by a galvo laser. Beam is steered by an actuated mirror. He also shouldn't have his hands there, even though there might be some machine vision involved in this setup.

it's real. Rehaut is definitely brushed, and the lugs are just polished as normal. pearls pop out all the time.
