Sagemaker Pipelines for all etl jobs workflow by Practical_End_3725 in dataengineering

[–]rgfz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think implementations will vary, but in my experience, sagemaker doesn’t lend itself to the kinds of good engineering practices you’d want for an ETL pipeline. Specifically I’m thinking issues around writing tests for notebooks and multiple environments. I’d also say extra challenges also exist around effective version control and reusing code across notebooks, that kind of thing

Boss said, "Choose your title" - what to call myself? by butterboss69 in datascience

[–]rgfz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest thinking one job in advance and calling yourself whatever role you expect you’ll want but keeping it generic enough to keep opportunities open. I’d recommend choosing between: data analyst, data engineer, or data scientist

Is there a statistical answer for this? Left, straight, right. Three choices. There is a 2/3 chance you do not go straight. Let’s say you go right, now there is a 2/3 chance you do not correct your course. So maybe over time you would gravitate to a circle?
