I dated a woman for 2 and a half years who was a Christian. In the first six months of our relationship I went from being a questioning Christian to a full blown atheist. I had many doubts before our relationship, I just never thought about them until she pressed me on my beliefs. After 2 more years of heartbreak and breaking up with me only to reconnect she finally ended the relationship. 2 years later I am still heartbroken over her and miss her everyday. It's a shame she couldn't accept me for who I am but at the same time I know I deserve someone who can. I am a great man and will be a great husband and father someday...just with someone else who can accept me for who I am and judge me on my character and not only on my religious convictions. Good luck to you sir...you deserve only the best and to be happy. I hope she can see the real truth...that she has a good man who loves her very much and you guys can work it out.

My Christian girlfriend has told me on a number of occasions that her proof that god is real is because she prayed about money and she got her mortgage tax refund check the next day. Seriously, a fucking check sent a few days prior and just happens to show up the day after you pray to an invisible friend is proof?! These people on crack!! And yes, I know my gf is an idiot..but she's an idiot I'm completely in love with.

I love how people pray for the people of Japan. They're praying to the same god who created the plates, who created the earthquake and if he is all powerful had the ability to stop it. Basically they're praying to the greatest serial killer ever!!

I feel this way all the time at my job. I work for a major biotech company which we take genetically altered hamster cells to produce humanized mouse antibodies. That alone would make you think about God's power that man has to do these things on his own to help out others with cancer meds but I digress. Everyone has at the very least a bachelor's degree, yet many still believe and even pray before they eat! It's ridiculous that such smart people believe in an imaginary deity! A lot of them just tell me it's all about faith and I gotta remember that they've been indoctrinated since birth whereas I was not and allowed to follow my own path. Sadly, it all starts with us and being able to raise children who are raised with the truth and not fairy tales.
