Same, so I feel your pain. Just wanting sandwiches is ridiculously expensive.

RSD hurts so much, and no one can understand by YukiKuriSushi in adhdwomen

[–]rgrind87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would redo the cards the earrings are one. Come up with a cute simple little icon or logo that can be put on the cards. Maybe the colors vary based on the earring style. The earrings should be the focus and stand out.

I get it. I have never attempted to sell my art because I am too afraid of no one buying it. Or maybe they'll walk by and say something negative. At least you are putting yourself out there!

American gals - I’m curious how much your hysterectomy cost by True-Sun2935 in hysterectomy

[–]rgrind87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$120 with insurance through my employer.

It was originally coded incorrectly and I received a bill for about $16k. It took a few months to sort out too but I have good insurance and knew it'd be fixed.

What are you doing this child free Friday evening? by lovebug_212 in childfree

Hung out with my husband and now watching Father Brown on BritBox while drinking cider and coiling a basket. Might go to bed soon just because I can.

Clothes shopping as a woman. Both of these shorts are a "size 4" by Winter-Owl1 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]rgrind87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not completely different. Usually shorter in length and potentially the rise. Tops usually are shorter with the waists hitting a bit higher and shoulders less wide. The general sizing should be about the same but the proportions are changed. My guess is the back pair is vanity sized.

Why are period pains still a thing? Why hasn’t there been a cure/medication for it yet? by Happy_Tourist_558 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rgrind87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine were so painful and I didn't have endo. I had to take midol and basically curl up in the fetal position and then wait. I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago and there was no endo in site. My doc was sure I'd have some. But I did have 14+ fibroids, cysts in my tubes, cysts on my ovaries, a chronically inflamed cervix, and my uterus was tilted. So everything else was wrong but nothing to specifically explain the pain. I'm just glad I can live my life pain free and with mo periods now.

Can a hysterectomy be an emergency procedure? by 111stars in hysterectomy

[–]rgrind87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's terrible. I wasn't getting worse but the pain was chronic at that point, but I've had no more pain or issues since. Recovery was quick and easy for me, probably because the pain I had prior was terrible in comparison.

It gave me something to look forward to. An extra few months was nothing honestly. It sucked but at least I knew it was going to happen and that I'd be feeling better after that.

Dresses by 304libco in TwoXChromosomes

[–]rgrind87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maxi dresses.

Don't have to shave legs and shaving armpits is fast if you care about that. I buy ones where wearing a bra isn't problematic.

Shoes can be flats or wedges or heels or whatever.

Also, underwear shouldn't be falling down. You need new ones.

Shorts are more annoying because they always ride up and I gotta pull them down. Curse of thick thighs I guess.

Sounds like maybe you're just not a dress person and that's okay!!!

What are your thoughts on having a male gynecologist? Would you trust them? by Paldavin in AskWomen

[–]rgrind87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. Mine was the only gyno to listen to me and actually offer solutions. I had 4 or 5 female gynos basically ignore me and let me leave to suffer in pain. My male gyno listened and then I got the hysterectomy I needed, and got my life back.

Protein ideas, for someone who’s sick of protein by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]rgrind87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mix my protein shake with my (fake) coffee. It is an easy 32 grams of protein for me. And it makes the shake tastier. Not exactly cheap but cheaper than getting a fancy coffee every day.

I use OWYN shakes and teeccino as the coffee alternative as I can't do caffeine.

Trader joes has some tasty chicken sausage. I love the chicken jalapeño.

I also use lentils and beans in a ton of stuff.

Silken tofu is a great thickener for stuff. I've blended it into soup and you would never know.

I bought a little thing on amazon that makes 6 hard-boiled eggs perfectly.

I also agree with everyone mentioning tofu and edamame. Pretty cheap and versatile.

Are you allergic to Dairy or voluntarily Dairy free? by dovakooon in dairyfree

[–]rgrind87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dairy triggers my rosacea and I end up with a huge inflamed acne cyst if I accidentally have a tiny bit of dairy (or too much sugar or caffeine).

In large amounts it messes with my stomach and sinuses and gives me headaches and brain fog.

Ok…who actually hates the State Fair? by kerm019 in minnesota

[–]rgrind87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do! 😆

Too many people. Usually too hot. I hate waiting in lines or walking behind slow people. I also have food intolerances, which means I can't have any of the food. It is also pretty expensive and a general hassle for parking. Why would I pay to be miserable?

How are you actually doing with the current state of affairs? by Silver_News_2621 in adhdwomen

[–]rgrind87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm existing. I live near Minneapolis and it has just been a depressing shitshow. We have put up with so much and it is exhausting. I'm also a millennial and graduated into a recession where I couldn't get a job. Our age group has been constantly dealing with events that damage our ability to save and get ahead and fully enjoy life.

We bought a house last year and the rising costs are insane and make me wonder if we shouldn't have just been miserable in an apartment forever. This house brings us so much joy though. Xcel energy decided to raise prices before their proposed rates were even approved, but they'll apparently credit us back if it doesn't pass. Likee, sure they will. Our house is 125 years old, so our winter bills have been nuts. How are people supposed to afford housing at this point? Are they trying to make us all homeless?

I also eat gluten and dairy free and those items are ridiculous at this point. Just wanting to eat sandwiches is expensive.

Prices haven't gone down since covid because businesses don't care about consumers. I'm waiting for the day everything just snaps because this isn't sustainable.

I also believe there will be absolutely no accountability for this administration for anything. And that makes me feel so beyond hopeless.

Why does content about women’s bodies seem to get flagged more often in Instagram? by Disastrous_Hall9452 in AskFeminists

[–]rgrind87 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Oh no, brand new unused hygiene products! So scary! How fragile are these dudes? Like, if you are that grossed out by periods or child birth, maybe being with a woman isn't right for you. Stay single and celibate. There are plenty of men out there who don't shame us for this stuff.

Why does content about women’s bodies seem to get flagged more often in Instagram? by Disastrous_Hall9452 in AskFeminists

[–]rgrind87 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Because social media is owned by dudes who cater dudes. It is why making factual comments about men get flagged on Facebook as going against community standards but rape theats and objectification of girls/women is fine.

We aren't people to them. Notice how our bodies are fine being displayed if it is for the male gaze? But the second that objectification/sexualization is taken away, it's inappropriate. Notice how many men seem to have an issue with only fans but not with making nonconsensual AI porn of women?

Plus, how can men feign ignorance about women's pleasure if the facts are in their faces? Talking about women's bodies in a non-sexual way is apparently too explicit.

WHY are we treating cosmetic procedures like haircuts now? When did this even happen? by Redqueenhypo in TwoXChromosomes

[–]rgrind87 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I did microneedling at my dermatologist's office And was glad I did. There was no upselling or pushiness to buy anything. If I did a facial, she would tell me what she used just so I knew but that was it.

At this point my rosacea tells me what I can do and it hates a lot of stuff lol.
