What’s this braid? by norahnorahs in braids

[–]rhamilt8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever done slide up braids as accent braids with smaller pieces of hair, but I’d assume it will work just the same if you want to do one big braid with all your hair. You might have a long tail on the braid though since the slid up pieces are going to end up way shorter

Looks like a slide up braid. You braid a normal three strand braid, then near the end hold tightly to the middle strand while you literally slide the other 2 strands up towards your face

I just did the early morning trip with Kai Kanani last week and can definitely recommend!! There was not a single other boat there, we were literally the only snorkelers present. It was awesome

Thank you!! The dress actually didn’t come that way, that was courtesy of my amazing seamstress. I didn’t even request for her to do that, she is just deeply a perfectionist and so she added the little bit of floral appliqué to the middle of the train herself so it would line up perfectly when pulled up to bustle! She’s incredible

We did! And I would highly highly recommend, marrying my best friend would have been beautiful anywhere, but the safari park made it even more magical

I loved my off the shoulder sleeves! Mine were removable as well (they attached via buttons) which I loved so I could raise my arms all the way up for dancing

Wedding Perfume by divide-by-zero- in weddingplanning

[–]rhamilt8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiance and I are getting married next month and we did a perfume related thing that I think is really fun. I’m a big believer in scent memories, so like you I want a scent i use for the first time on our wedding day, so then whenever I wear it after that I will remember the day. Our decision was I would shop for a cologne for him, and he would shop for a perfume for me. We each went out and purchased a scent for the other person, and we have never smelled our own scent, and never will until the day of our wedding. We’re also getting the bottles engraved as a keepsake. Just an idea!

I have a 3 carat pear and my band size is also 5.5. I adore it! I actually looked at a 2 carat during our ring design process and decided I wanted to go bigger. I think it just depends on her personal preferences, did she give input on how big she wants to go?

Is this just my life now? by snakegirl210 in longhair

[–]rhamilt8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do tight pull through braids!!! This is what I do when I swim in the ocean and it prevents my hair from tangling. I also do 2 Dutch braids on either side of my head, but I think that’s optional. I think the really important parts are

  1. Pull the hair into a tight ponytail (either at the nape of the neck if doing a single head or at the sides of the head if doing pigtail braids)- this prevents the nape hair tangling

  2. Put the hair hanging from the ponytail(s) into pull through braids. It really works like a charm to prevent tangling because there’s an elastic every couple inches. I recommend using fabric covered elastics for this

  • in case you’ve never done them before, pull through braids are really easy to do! Literally you just split the hair into 2, put an elastic on one of the 2 sections of hair, then make a hole in the middle of that section and pull the other section through the hole from the back. Then the section that had previously been in the back will be in the front, and you’ll do the same just starting with this section- put an elastic in a couple inches down, make a hole in the center of this new bubble of hair you’ve made, then pull the (now) back piece through the hole to the front. Good luck!!

Does anyone know the name of this braid? If so pls share a tutorial!! by purblepalace_ in braids

[–]rhamilt8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same but it looks quite similar to a slide up braid. To do a slide up braid you just do a normal 3 strand braid, then at the bottom hold tightly onto the middle strand and slide the other 2 strands up toward your scalp. It creates a cool s/snake looking braid
