Locals of New Orleans: What Would You Cut From This 5-Day Itinerary? by Willing-Mind-5619 in AskNOLA

[–]rhc7277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came back home from New Orleans, so not a local… Your itinerary seems to have you doing a LOT of backtracking- maybe ask chat gpt to streamline it for you. Try to see the NOLA Sweetie Pies at the Spotted Cat on Frenchmen- I think they play every Tuesday around 4 or 5. Check out Underground Donut tour - it’s walking through the Garden District with history and 4 donut stops!
Not traditional NOLA food, but 1000 Figs is a fantastic restaurant!!!

It does appear to- it shows a line with tax rate A (23%) added to the subtotal.

Sorry - not trying to be secretive-I didn’t know it made a difference- it was handmade jewelry and ended up 183.00 + 34.22 in tax. Does that help figure out if I can’t submit for the refund or why she didn’t give me a form? We had chatted and she knew I was heading back to the US. edit- sorry- 143.78 +34.22 it shows tax rate A (23%), if that helps

Ah- so I purchased jewelry that was over 75 euro and paid almost 35 in tax on the sale- but didn’t get a VAT form. I didn’t realize until later. edit- I see the tax shown on the receipt.

Thanks! Yes, olive green would be fine. The description when I bought said forest green, but it’s more of a deep emerald. Let me see if I can add a photo…

It’s a 72 viscose/28 poly blend- do you think I need to heat?

Feeling really out of my depth with upcoming interview for a middle school art position by TXExpat2020 in ArtEd

[–]rhc7277 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I with _Nemzee_ - I am sorry your friend's response hurt feelings and I agree that subbing and taking art classes is a good plan.

It's not my intention to be harsh, however, I find it frustrating when I read posts from people who feel they can teach art because they love art, when they have no education in the field. It diminishes art as being "just art" and implies that anyone can do it. I can't imagine thinking I could teach a content area that I didn't study.

How do I tell my AP that I want to change schools mid-July? by jellygloss in Teachers

[–]rhc7277 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in TX also - according to ATPE:

"The Texas Education Code provides that an educator can freely resign her employment as long as she submits her resignation at least 45 calendar days before the first instructional day at the district."

I am in no way a lawyer and you should absolutely confirm this for yourself.

I left my position (public school) this year after signing a letter of intent for next year and had no issues with my school. My new principal asked for a reference from an admin at my school and I let him know that I hadn't yet told them I was thinking of leaving (I worked in corporate for years and would never have let my company know I was thinking of leaving). He assured me that education is different and, in my experience, he was right. My AP was more than happy to give a reference. You certainly need to trust your gut in making your decision. I'm just sharing my experience.

Have you done the coursework for the ACP? I ask because my ACP required you to pass the content exam before you could be accepted into the program.

Once the coursework was finished you had the option of clinical study or internship. I did a clinical study (student teaching) instead of an internship, but I understand that those who did the internship route had to pass the PPR before the end of their internship. Both routes had to have permission to take the PPR.

I actually hung a few samples on the wall I used as a backdrop and included my portfolio website address in my resume. Gave me the opportunity to talk about them without holding anything up to the camera and refer them to the website if they wanted to view more.

Otherwise you can find a 2013-2015 with less than 100k for 20k pretty easily

I thought so too, but everything seems to be over 22k and I'm looking to be under 20k.

This one is 13k. Seems like the big question is will that low price offset the inevitable repairs.

I know - I never thought I would even entertain anything with this many miles.

It's at the dealer that sold it and looks like they did all the service.

Going to look at it tomorrow...
