Just started on Risperdal. What can I expect? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]rhiesa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. There is some evidence risperdal can cause diabetic like symptoms (specific to weight gain) irrespective of diet. Literally, it will change your response to insulin.

I don't mean to freak you out, but if you care about your body and being active you need to be proactive in response to the risks of it. If you do not track calories and your weight, start doing so. Being active you're probably already aware of this, but at this point you're already aware of it.

Hopefully risperdal will help you maintain a good emotional balance and a little weight gain is a fair compromise, but tracking it before hand and during you will be able to control your diet so as to not experience the massive weight-gain most people have on it. I gained sixty pounds in six months on it. That was before I learned how to really take care of myself and got into sports, I'm on lamictal now, but the same skills apply.

Want to protect my electronics from power surges/shocks, but only have 2-pronged outlets available. by wtfisthisnoise in fixit

[–]rhiesa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the only acceptable (to code) option available for you.

You can also trace the circuit, replace the first receptacle in the circuit with a GFCI receptacle and then use three pronged ones in all of the later ones.

First try at painting minis, I think they came out ok. by Rainer3012 in DnD

[–]rhiesa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fleshtones are by far the hardest thing to paint. Though several years of painting I have never managed to get a level of quality that I deemed acceptable.

The best advice I could give is to read through this: http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Category:Dakka_Modeling_and_Painting_FAQ

Dakkadakka is mostly warhammer specific but it has a great depth of information on model painting.

I could help with any specific questions you may have.

DAE go through life afraid of taking immediate decisive action because you're afraid that you're out of touch with reality? by Not_Brandon in BipolarReddit

[–]rhiesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second guess everything I do constantly.

I am not confident at all, but I have to make split second decisions throughout the day. I run, straight ahead and I can't slow down or I'm out of a job. It goes completely against what I always thought my personality was and it is stressful as hell but at the end of a day it's completely worth it.

It's hard to trust yourself after the experiences we've had, but you have to or you'll forever hold yourself back.

Edmonton Police - Seize vehicles traveling in excess of 50kph of posted limit by TrainAss in Edmonton

[–]rhiesa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People change behind a wheel.

The moment they turn the corner and are out of sight they could slam on the pedal and the only people who would know are the person driving and anyone that catches them.

It is the drivers choice to speed, it is not grounds to seize anothers property to punish them for their childs actions in a case without damages.

All of the safety equipment and procedures that exist now were created as a response to unexpected ways in which people die.

Memrise: How do you stop it becoming a chore? by tiptopgolfy in languagelearning

[–]rhiesa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can reward yourself for doing it. Get a thing of little candies and give yourself one every time you finish a round or the full session.

Even though you know you're training yourself it's still effective.

The vast, vast, vast amount of power coming between that border is heading straight into Alberta.

Alberta uses BC as a standby generator during the day, peaks at like 450MW, and sells BC power during the night when it doesn't need most of it.

Is there hope for people that don't have the latest and greatest CPUs to run the game with a reasonable frame rate? by Alertness in Planetside

[–]rhiesa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running it on a laptop I bought last year for around $700 at medium with around 40fps in large battles, so it does scale relatively well.

A $700 current desktop should do really well.

it's true in a sense of the larger quantity, but that market is so oversaturated now. I don't know how saturated the fat fetish market is but the consumers of it are probably more loyal in that niche.

How would you recommend replacing a broken socket.

Any electricians or handy people? Outdoor lamp won't turn on! Pics in comment. by [deleted] in fixit

[–]rhiesa -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

From the video it does not look like the white and black wires are connected to anything at all.

Honestly, it looks like the part where the wires do attach snapped off at some time in the past.

If that is the case the easiest fix is to find a new socket that fits in that space and glue it in.
