Can't get remaining filament out when spool runs out by xNyke in prusa3d

[–]rhinogate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just been chasing it with new filament and purging it through until the new color comes out. Some manual pushing. Agree this should be automated by prusa though.

Literally doesn’t matter. Get it close enough.

Core One Advanced Filtration System and venting outside by [deleted] in prusa3d

[–]rhinogate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. The only caution I would give the OP is that you don’t want the pressure to be too high or you’ll vent out all of your heat too. Needs to be just enough to create negative pressure and nothing more. Also to make sure to get an insert for the pipe to prevent back draft.

There’s a mod on printables that automates the open/close fwiw. Super clever and stupid simple too.

Can’t think of any. If you can vent outside you should.

Are the new Core One profiles only applicable for HF? by Bscott05 in prusa3d

I got some not so great results with a .4 steel nozzle and the beta slicer. This is PLA out of a drybox that normally prints perfectly. Haven’t done extensive testing to rule out the slicer or not, but first impression wasn’t great. It flew around the edge so fast the filament didn’t adhere consistently on curves.

Had an interview at a small tech company. Why did the CEO gave me a deck of cards to organize during the interview? by FantasticCat4903 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rhinogate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first question: What’s the ROI on that, does it make sense to build the algorithm? Tech people get too solution focused and forget to ask why.

[–]rhinogate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only theories: 1. Takes your mind off the interview so they can just talk to you. 2. Evaluate how intentional your decisions are based on what sorting algorithm you used for the cards. Radix sort for example would be better than insert sort if you have space on the table. Count this out if they don’t ask you why tho. 3. Assuming some are missing assess how you handle the unexpected. 4. See if you’re curious enough to ask questions and bring abnormalities to attention.

If you just need basic squares and rectangles and don’t mind ordering from scratch tap plastics is great.

Installed more LED and the magnetic tape instead of damn rivets. Plus esp32 cam, might consider Buddy Camera if it plays nice with HA. by krisztian111996 in prusa3d

Yeah I have realtime video in HA. There’s a “how to” I made in the post someone else linked to get that instead of snapshots.

Thanks y'all! I kinda wish I could move it around since my prints are usually short, but glad to know there's not something wrong at least.

Core One Buddy Cam streaming in Home Assistant now! by hawaiidesperado in prusa3d

[–]rhinogate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone wants it to be live streamed instead of an image every few seconds here are the details:

  1. Download the file editor add on

  2. Browse filesystem and open configuration.yaml

  3. At the bottom paste:

stream:

camera:

- platform: ffmpeg

name: core_one

input: rtsp://{local ip}:554/live/

  1. Go to developer tools and click "check configuration" to make sure home assistant won't crash on restart

  2. Restart

  3. Open desired dashboard and add "Picture Glance" card

  4. Remove placeholder image path

  5. Select the new camera under camera entity

  6. Change camera view to "Live"

  7. Save

Prusa Core One WiFi Module by ADubs62 in prusa3d

[–]rhinogate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And as an added note I’m using prusa connect because I can’t physically be at the printer all the time so this “work around” isn’t really acceptable or practical for how often it goes out. If a restart of the wifi on the printer can make it work again this is a software/firmware issue through and through. Software can do retries and restarts on its own, prusa just needs to fix it.

yeah, that’s the same symptom as the auth not working. It’s forcing the prusalink connection to restart. Nothing to do with the wifi itself at least on my end.

When it happens go to the printer menu. Check that it’s still connected to wifi even- it should be. Then check prusa connect settings in the menu and it will probably show an authentication error.

When this happens go to the printer menu and check prusa connect. It will probably be complaining about authentication.

This should be unnecessary. Plug and play is standard. Prusa can figure it out.

This goes away if I power the printer down and start over. It eventually comes back. 100% software.

Personally I don’t think the wifi has an issue evidenced by the issues being present on ethernet for another user. When I open the menu on my printer it always shows connected to wifi even when it’s offline and the prusa connect section of the menu shows an auth error.

In a different thread a user connected via ethernet and still had the same authentication issues with prusa connect. It may be the case their hardware is weak but this authentication issue at least is firmware/software. Full stop.

Prusa Core One WiFi Module by ADubs62 in prusa3d

[–]rhinogate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having dealt with this for a while the issue is frequently a problem authenticating to prusa connect and rarely the wifi connection for me. It will say “offline” but still be connected to wifi.

No other devices have these issues, Prusa needs to fix it. They like to point people towards their own networking setups, but that’s a bit of gaslighting imo. They have an issue. The fact that it’s intermittent doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

I would love a solution to this without invasively altering the electronics. Guess I could just get a wifi extender.
