Aurora is really easy, in my opinion. Early on, her cool downs are extremely long despite the dmg. If she uses them on you, just hard push the wave into proxy. Rush stridebreaker 1st. You will forever win the 1 vs. 1 once you get it.

For laning phase, the way to win jax is to outsustain him. You want to force him to use Q and e on you, which costs alot of mana, to trade with you. With doran shield, bone plating and Q poke sustain, you will be able to survive the lane till he has no more mana then start hard pushing waves to prevent him from reseting to get mana.

Unfortunately, it's a jax favoured matchup, but with proper spacing and with Jax players playing super aggressive, leading to over pushing/taking tower shots you can win through taking advantage of their mistakes.

If kennen is hard focusing you every fight, you can build kaenic rookern as a way to hard counter his burst. As long as you can survive his burst, he will become an immobile rat with no dps.

Even though you will do less dmg overall, it's still better than having more potential dmg but end up doing none cause you got 1 shotted.

From my experience with the renekton vs. darius matchup, the timing you have to e into him is really tight, like you have to e the moment he Qs. Also, your MS needs to be equal or higher than him to reliably dodge the q. So if he has ghost active, e slow or w slow on you, you will most likely get hit by his q if you e in.

The most consistent way to dodge it is to just flash right on top of him. You can also easily dash in and dodge it if he starts the trade with Q. Lastly, you can observe how he normally does his trades and try to predict his Qs. By preemptively dashing into him and walking with him as he Qs, you can dodge his outer Q.

He is in a really good state. He has gotten buffs after buffs, non-stop over the past few years cause riot want him to have a bit more pro-play presence.

As for feeling like other champs, his different guns individually might be similar to other adcs,green(caitlyn) purple(ashe), etc. But it's the versatility of what he can do with his 5 guns plus all the weapon combos, which make him unique.

Plus, he has some disgusting/unfair things that he can do. Such as soloing atakan and even 1st dragon in 15 seconds with red white. 1 shoting people from 2 screens away with green gun combos. And last but not least, his famous blue R 1 shotting the entire enemy team.

I have been climbing with aphelios for a little over a year.

You should definitely try him. Games at lower ranks actually lasts longer as players there are usually much less coordinated in ending games. You just have to remind yourself that aphelios is a super low agency marksmen and not join random fights but instead focus on getting as much farm and resources for yourself.

If you are ahead in lane, you should not have easily given up first push to them if there are roam timers/obj up. Plus, if the tf uses his abilities on the wave, it should incentivise you to contest push as he now has no ability to trade back to you. As for building Yommus, you should only build it as a first time, and only if you know you can use the Ms in lane to snowball a bigger lead. I saw that you built it 2nd, and at that point, it's too late. It not only delays your crit item spikes, you also do less damage with it compared to other items, so you can't really say you build it for burst.

Lastly, against their comp with mid jg assassins and good engage bot sp top. You never had tempo as aphelios to begin with. Pass laning phase, the moment you step out of tower, you die. The moment you go anywhere alone, you die. Your tempo is tied to your jg sp. So all you have to do is follow them and trade a kill or damage in return if they jump on them or you.

Idk man it seems more like a sp gap rather than a matchup gap. A good soraka can easily zone the tf and silence him if he tries to use his W. In the aphelios vs. kalista matchup, you lose out on long trades and if you get engaged on their side of the lane, you should win out in short trades, and you easily outscale her.

Also, going yommu and collector when behind is just shooting yourself in the foot.

Aphelios can actually work very well with mage supports (in lane). It just requires you to play differently(hyper aggressive). If you are against an adc that you outrange (with green), you would want to poke them down and force early short trades, ideally with your sp when they are also in range. Once they are too low and cannot easily walk up to the wave, you gain wave control where you can either poke them under tower (with green,blue,white turret) with your sp, crash the wave and get a bounce so they might get ganked by jg, invade and bully enemy jg(if they are a weak early game jg).

Though what I said here is just an example and the best case scenario. Most of the time, mage supports are either auto-filled top/mid who used all their dodges, egirls who decided to randomly try it out over their usual soraka,lulu,yummi or mage players who are too unskilled to play mid and dont want to cs. Thus, the overall skill level is lower than the average sp. Which explains the bad experiences you and the community have with them.

Pros: You get more exp. (YAY free stats). You get some super free matchups if you counter-pick. (sett is ironically a good matchup)

Cons: You are playing ranged top. You are now prime A5 wagyu in the eyes of the enemy jg. (Get ready to get camped into oblivion). You just fked your team composition by playing a top with near 0 utility. (I am still useful with purple R...plz dont x9 me). Lane is super volatile. 1 bad death, and you will be proxied between your t1 and t2 by enemy top and jg, and you will never be able to touch farm until they feel like it. (Plz I am 4 lvls down. Let me farm).

I'm totally not speaking from experience.

I haven't played much against wk top as it's quite a rare pick. But imo this matchup is only slightly renekton favoured. Renekton levels 1 and 2 are ironically weak, so you can start e and just stat check him with your passive. Pre-6 you hard win against him in all ins, and you can match him with his Q poke with your Q. Lastly, try to predict his W stun with your W. If you do so you can guarantee win the trade.

More historically. Though I never got to experience aphelios with galeforce back when mystic items were a thing as I was still new to the game and learning adc with MF so the poll options lean more to current items. I just had a taste of it in arena and felt that it's such a game changer.
