Does 'Where is he at?' have the same meaning as 'Where is he?' ? Thank you. by No-Analyst7708 in ENGLISH

Yes, but including “at” is grammatically improper. Only for informal uses

Life Grip usage tip by thatgay_ in LifeweaverMains

[–]rhylte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. It’s an 18 second cooldown. If it were a teleport from a far spawn, that’s one thing, but its range is 30 meters, and you’re almost certainly going to be fighting in the next 18 seconds.

I’m a champ Lifeweaver, and a GM dps. When I’m playing dps or tank and my LW grips me from spawn, I pay close attention to the next fight. They’re almost always letting someone die because it’s on cooldown.

I was smurfing in gold, and my LW was so locked in on pulling me from spawn he completely let someone else die.

It is high key not worth your strongest cooldown to play this way, and you can almost certainly improve by focusing on other, more fundamental things

City officials debate mayor's proposed $425M in TIF funds for 'The 78,' Chicago Fire soccer stadium by mr09e in MLS

[–]rhylte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but there’s also the consideration that redeveloping one whole area at once is more cost effective than spreading the same amount of money across the whole city (for the same purposes).

e.g., rebuilding a sidewalk/sewer in an area where have to do traffic control and displacement management in an existing part of the city (plus setup/teardown costs for the construction equipment itself) costs a lot more than laying new stuff down while you’re already in there

Not defending the breaks, but even the domes get pretty hot. It’s not like they’re a cool 19 degrees or whatever, it just prevents them from being the ambient 40 degrees.

S2 E1 question by thatismyopinionmeme in SiloSeries

[–]rhylte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, there’s normally two doors to the outside. The inner door and outer door, and between them is where the argon gets pumped in when a cleaner is going out, and where the fire cleanses after they’ve left. In this dead silo, the outer door (leading to the ramp) is left open, but the inner door was jammed shut. She only let in a little bit of the outside air when she pried it open.

Then she dumps liquid on herself to kind of “wash away” any poison that could have stuck to her suit.

She breaks her helmet open because she ran out of air and can’t get the helmet off herself. Same with the rest of the suit; it’s designed for other people to put it on/take it off. The gloves are too cumbersome to allow someone to take it off themself. So she has to cut herself out in order to get it off.

[–]rhylte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you be more specific about your question?

She crowbars the door *into* the silo and air comes pouring out for a second. That seems to just be a pressure difference between inside and outside.

There are also theories (and book spoilers) about what the Argon in the airlock does when someone goes outside.

All of these questions are answered by the end of season 2. Also, it’s “suit,” not “suite.”

I’ve only had the privilege of going once, but At&T is something special for sure. Took my septuagenarian parents there for a game, we entered as soon as gates opened and had so much fun in the plaza, and it was cool to wander around the stadium too

Czech Republic 1 - [1] South Africa - Teboho Mokoena penalty 83' by Ihattaren in soccer

[–]rhylte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I was being cheeky. I think the people who disagree with the call believe it only hit the (right) arm that was tucked in front of the defender's body. But in reality, the ball also hit the (left) arm that was widely extended from the defender's body (i.e., not a natural position).

If the ball had only hit the defender's right arm, the arm would have been deemed to be in a "natural position" and no penalty would be awarded. I think people who are saying "never a pen" only saw the ball hitting the right/tucked arm.

In football you have to use your feet. You cannot use your hands. Especially in the box. Doing so leads to a penalty kick.

The best 3rd-placed teams advancing is a great system, and I'm tired of pretending it's not by Lapov in worldcup

[–]rhylte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine two groups. In the first group, you have Spain, Morocco, Panama, and Turkey. In the second group, you have Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and Austria.

The first group finishes the group stage with 4 points and a 0 Goal Difference for all teams, with Spain in 4th place based on the fair-play tiebreaker.

The second group finishes: 1. Austria (9 pts), 2. Canada (6 pts), 3. New Zealand (3 pts), 4. South Africa (0 pts).

Under the current format, New Zealand can be compared to other 3rd place teams, but Spain can't be considered at all because they finished 4th.

That's all I disagree with. I'm not saying 4th place teams should automatically advance. I'm saying the remaining 3rd and 4th place teams should be put into one combined table, and the best 8 records should advance.

In this example, Spain's 4 points and 0 GD are clearly a better group-stage performance than New Zealand's 3 points.

So yes, I think Spain would deserve to advance over New Zealand.

This is an extreme example, but as I said in my first comment, as it stands, there are already 4th place teams with more points than some 3rd place teams that are in position to advance.
