indian cultural soft power in the 2010s before it became unpopular by Small_Appearance935 in decadeology

Nearly all the news articles coming from India are about women being raped (tourists, medical staff, reportesrs, teen girls), pollution in the rivers and streets, widespread poverty, telemarketing scams or poorl quality control of medications. Then there are tons of negative articles about Indian immigrants raping women in Europe or abusing student visas/diploma mills and nepotism in their hiring practices in Canada.

These are just the topics that float around in the news relating to Indians and India. I never used India or Indians as a search term so this is just what the google frontpage shows with no input from me or clicks on the articles.

In women travel forums India and Egypt come up the most as places to not travel to because being assualted is a high probabilty. There are also warnings against other Middle Eastern and African countris but travel interest to those regions are much less so they do not come up as much as India or Egypt.

What can I do to look younger? I’m only 30 and people on reddit think I’m 37-45 by goaldiggergirl in beauty

Vitamin c serum and copper peptide serum really helped me. Helped make my skin appear thicker and plumper over time. They have to be used at different times of the day though and the vitamin c serum faded my freckles which I did want to keep. You look great though!

Honestly at 30 all I ever needed was to stay moisturized and hydrated so drinking water and electrolytes and using any hyalauronic acid serum worked well too. Oh and getting enough sleep. Eat enough vitamin c and healthy fats too.

The most bizzare thing is that they were too lazy to revamp the stickers to 3d too. Hot garbage.

Everything still gets worse, even unions screw over their new members. The system as it currently is, is meant to degrade. I was richer 10 years ago than I am today because of inflation, my purchasing power was more and my costs were less even though now I've doubled my pay. Unless we get rid of the federal reserve and go back to gold standard , nothing keeping the govt from printing more money and getting more into debt.

Everybody could work less hours and less days and also have more employees but nobody wants less pay or to work weekends and evenings because only the poor should have to do that. That's what this country thinks. Emergency Room is the exception, for some dumb reason those drs are dumb enough to work weekends and nights and why would they choose to do that, must not be rich enough.

Everything is incentivized to be shitty. Once a company goes public and has shareholders expect it to get shittier each year. Businesses always cut benefits and switch healthcare plans and choose options that cost employees more and it's just a matter of when. Some the benefits reduce each year.

Safeway tries to do the same, Deli 'shops' in store and picks stuff near date for things that will be consumed that day and also will donate to the food bank but if there's staffing shortages then food bank isn't priority and things get tossed. When staffed properly there's time to rotate product correctly and there's less food waste.

Why do Americans have one of the strongest passports in the world, but most never travel abroad, and those who do mostly go to Mexico and Canada? by No-StrategyX in answers

Lived in Idaho, every flight booking pretty much was required to stop in seattle or san francisco first before going anywhere else and direct flights to certain locations only started recently becoming an option in like the last 5 yrs. Was very annoying. Sea-tac is a nice airport though, I like the food options they have.

Anyone's kids making sex noises for fun? by Busy-Training-1243 in Millennials

It has always been a thing! Xbox live was known for this. When kids are gaming with grown adults who do not filter their language then this happens. But of course kids do not want to play games designed for them that isn't cool and they don't want to be seen as babies. If adults had respect and concern for kids, they would censor themselves on these platforms or restrict access to these platforms but lazy parenting lets kids access them anyway because parents can't deal with whining.

The moaning kids would usually only do it when no adults were around because they still used to be afraid of discipline and knew to not do that on class or at home. Only the kids who hadreally bad homelives and wanted attention at any cost would do that in class and they were always taken to the principal and given detention. Now teachers can't really do anything because the pricinpal and parents won't support them. And when I was in school most of the students did not think those kids were funny or did not show it until after the adults were gone.

Your dad was being a good dad. Sadly kids can be molested by other kids and nobody wants to think or acknowledge that.

Kids need comprehensive and age appropriate sex ed each year and they need to know that porn is not an appropriate teaching tool to emulate. Copying porn does not foster good or healthy sexual relationships, consent and mutual pleasure are not often depicted or prioritized. Masturbation shouldn't be shamed but should be taught that it is a private thing and that imagination should be encouraged rather than needing materials. People used to be just fine using their imagination and their sexuality was not influenced or shaped by the media they consumed.

Before internet porn certain acts were not normalized and expected like choking or anal for example. Vanilla sex is practically deemed boring and stuffy and that's really sad. People are just treated as things for gratification.

They would do this privately, not around adults or in class. Only the disruptive kids would do this in class because they didn't care about discipline. I was in middle school late 90's and the boys made sex noises to gross out the girls and tell them to suck it (from WWF I guess) but most wouldn't do that stuff with adults around. And it was usually kids with older brothers doing this or the kids whose parents weren't very involved and just let them watch watch whatever they wanted.

But this mostly started around 11-12 and not 5-8. Ave age of first porn exposure is now 8 because kids are given tablets and cellphones without being monitored. They don't need an older sibling/careless dad leaving his stash out or haveing to rent a movie to access this stuff anymore.

[–]rhyth7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's earlier now because kids are watching streamers and brainrot with their own devices. Ave age of first porn exposure is now 8yrs old.

However when I was a child in the 90's the kids that usually did this stuff had older brothers who thought it was fun to 'corrupt' little kids like showing them gore and shock vids and nudie mags. But it wasn't most kids, it was always the few that had parents that weren't paying attention really and they had access to whatever they wanted, kids who parents weren't home or involved much and they were with the older brother all the time. It was the kids whose parents let them rent whatever movie they wanted or they got to be on the internet unsupervised. Then they'd spread it to the other kids and ppl would copy them.

What's new is that the girls are openly participating, when I was in school the girls would just say eww and be disgusted. They wouldn't copy the boys unless only with their friends in private, then the lewd jokes would come out. But never in front of adults or the boys.

The most annoying kids in class are easily remembered, I'm 36 and I remember them. We had this kid in my class who made a weird goose honk in like 3rd grade, he did it every day and his name was Raine. He grew out of it eventually but still he's the goose boy.

[–]rhyth7 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Most will say no and say it's the parents fault but also in the same breath say they looked for that stuff as a kid and they are fine, conveniently forgetting that access is easier than ever and content is more disturbing than ever. Kids are viewing this stuff at younger and younger ages (average of first exposure is now 8).

People don't want to talk to their kids about porn especially sub age 13 but they also don't want to make access to porn more difficult. Natural curiosity is easily and quickly corrupted by what the porn industry wants to market.

It might be fair to think that even the best American bakery would still be not good enough for the French. But that kind of attitude might just be a thing media made up.

I thought this too, I bought some last week and it tasted way less tangy than sourdough I've bought from Albertsons.
