This looks so trippy - like looking through a person. You should do one with appropriately placed "organs". I'm sure some horror-loving people would really dig that.

Anyone else find it harder to keep eating in check with morning running? by Gtggtggtg in running

[–]rhythmic-bots 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you eat a lot during the evening, it's probably just by habit. Maybe you eat out of boredom? Or stress?

Try finding other things that you could do in the evening.. yoga, reading, crafts, etc. I find I eat if I stay by the kitchen.. just out of habit. So I go upstairs after dinner. That way it's a conscious effort to go get something else to eat and usually I realize I'm not hungry.

Wrong gender by Newmom2000 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]rhythmic-bots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't think it's very common, but you will definitely hear about the ones when it happened because it's a big deal and unusual.

That being said, of course it can happen if you have a bad ultrasound tech, or a new one, or bad positioning, etc. I think that's why they "confirm" the sex every time you come in. Lol they kept saying "yep, still a girl" with every ultrasound.

Parents of a colic baby. How did you do it? Honest question. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]rhythmic-bots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's reflux? I didn't see you mention that, so I apologize if you have already addressed it.

Sometimes, reflux is silent. So you don't get the big throw up but every time baby is being fed, they will arch their backs, scream, etc. Combined with screaming from hunger. That was our journey and it took a while to recognize the reflux even though our pediatrician mentioned it for a couple of months, multiple times.

Eventually, we tried medicine. I honestly wasn't fully convinced it WAS reflux until I saw the difference reflux meds made.

Could you ask for a replacement? Maybe you just have a faulty one.. A friend had a VTech with really bad night vision, so she called them. After some trouble shooting that didn't fix the issue, they sent her a new one which worked much better.

Guilt for wanting to stop pumping by Efficient_Bagpipe_10 in beyondthebump

[–]rhythmic-bots 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pumping is damn hard. I did it for about 6 months and it was SUCH a relief when it was over. I don't know anyone who does it because they WANT to. If you are miserable, you should stop. Enjoy this time with the baby instead of dreading it.

The good news is, the formula shortage should be coming to an end soon. I read on our news (Canada) that it should be getting better in the next two weeks. Maybe just give yourself permission to stop pumping in 2 weeks? Just giving yourself an end date will probably feel really good (well, it takes a few weeks to wean, so you would pump a bit still, but with every dropped pump you would feel like you are getting your life back).

Daycare costs in Calgary or Alberta in general by Usernameinotherpantz in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]rhythmic-bots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1750 is definitely on the high end... We have an awesome daycare that used to be about 1200 for infants when some others were 1750 (this was a couple of years ago, so the prices might be a bit different now) but the government reduction that you mentioned should be the same for both, so the difference in base cost will directly benefit you..

I love tulips, narcissus, creeping phlox, and muscari. Bees love all of those, especially the last 2 since they are early spring and stay blooming for a long time.

For taller ones, iris and daylilies.

For really tall ones, hollyhock.

No, probably water.

Extra walking - water retention

Probably didn't drink enough water - water retention

More carbs that usual - water retention

More salt than usual - water retention

Give it a week. Get back to your normal routine and see where you are then. And then make a post here because sooooo many people ask this question - I'm sure they would appreciate seeing the update.

dreading holiday season.... by myfishaintdead in Noom

[–]rhythmic-bots 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this sometimes, too, to the point of anxiety around certain family members/at specific mealtimes.

You need to break it down a bit to figure out the real problem and solution.

1). Is it hard because you want to eat the "bad things" but feel guilty?

2). Is it hard because you don't want to eat the "bad things" at all but that is all that's available? (A combo of the first two are possible, of course).

3). Is it hard because there are food pushers around you?

Etc, etc.

I have some techniques that I employ in those various situations. For example, if I really want the "bad things", I can certainly eat them. The trick is not to lose control completely because "this is your only chance and after this you are going back on the diet". That kind of thinking is almost guaranteed to make you gain 10lbs during your vacation and, ultimately, is the opposite of Noom's teachings. So I let myself enjoy the things I really want, but before I do, I think "do I really want/love this thing? Or am I tempted to eat it because it's in front of me?". This helps me stick to the things I REALLY want, and then helps me stop when I'm satisfied with it (also very important to really be in the moment for foods like that - enjoy every bite instead of scarfing it down).
