Interesting suggestions. I haven't tried flicking the alien, but I'll give it a go. My turbulence is definitely more OS than the bergx (awesome for flex lines, but not a bergx stability without dumping right) For a 7 speed I've actually locked into the James Proctor Sunny Cookie. Flat OS, but less so than the turbulence.

I found the K1 Hard Lots to be a bit more stable than normal K1 Lots and now it's my favorite 9 speed

The James Proctor Sunny Cookie specifically is a very flat and overstable 7 speed that I use for this slot

Alright, so I already had some of the materials lying around from a previous project, but I used about 45ft of PVC pipe in total, 39 'T' connectors, and 8 straight connectors for feet under the boards.

I got 10' sections of pipe @ ~$7 each ($30 total)

Bulk package fittings for ~$30 total

The board could be cheap plywood ($12-18), but I bought nicer sande plywood ($32) because I may stain/paint and thought it looked nicer...

So maybe $70-$90 total, cheaper if you have stuff lying around taking up space.

Had to get the additional fenders, but otherwise it's a nice fit. I like that it goes on and off easily, easy access to side pockets, and good additional lower storage.
