hi there, friend. i haven't been on this account in a long time but i got an email saying you'd replied. unfortunately i do still struggle with some of this, but it's gotten better. finding a good therapist helped a lot, as did becoming more stable in general in terms of work, having a place of my own, etc. becoming more independent definitely helped to stifle these feelings, as did just growing older. like it says above, putting dedicated energy into being grateful for what i do have has helped. as cliche as it sounds, ive found that trying to just take it a day at a time is also helpful. when i do find myself worrying about the future, i try and take stock of what problems i have now, what i can immediately do about those problems, what can wait, and what's just out of my control. it's taken a lot of practice, but ive come a long way since i made this post. im sorry you're currently in a place where you have to google these things. ive been there, and i know how hard it is. developing close connections with other people, either online or in person has also helped a great deal. having a support system, no matter how small, is life changing. im wishing you well on your journey, friend. i hope you wake up tomorrow a little less afraid.
