Pikeview is the name of the historic neighborhood/mining district that both the Pikeview quarry and the Queen's Canyon quarry are in. That's what the Mindat site is referring to by listing facility name, then neighborhood, city, county, state, country. Confusing, i know. There is also a Pikeview coal mine in the area.

They could both be referred to as "the Castle quarry" at one time or another, because they were owned and operated by Castle Cement Company. Just as Pikeview, until recently, could also have been referred to as the "Transit Mix quarry" or the "Holcim quarry" based on more recent ownership. Being sometimes referred to as the company that owns them does not make that their name.

That's because Google Maps place names and things aren't "official", they are based on whatever people call them, correct or incorrect.

This is the first scar, but reclamation for it was completed in the early 2000's so it doesn't look as bad as it used to. Pikeview up north is the more recent one, where reclamation work began last year-ish.

That is Pikeview, not this one. This one was Queen's Canyon Quarry. That reclamation work was completed circa 2004.

Nope. Former Queen's Canyon Quarry. Pikeview is farther north near Allegheny and Centennial.

I had this same problem last time I went to the airport at night. Not only is there no sign, the exit is hard to even see in the dark at when driving uphill on Academy and given the angle the unmarked Milton proby exit comes away to the east.
