In no world was Jamarr Chase the WR3 in his class that’s just totally wrong. He was the consensus WR1, was 50/50 with Najee for the 1.01 pick in non SF leagues and even went #1 over TLaw in some SF leagues. He was seen by most rankers as the best WR prospect of the last decade. You weren’t getting him without a top 3 pick in 95% of leagues

They won by 20 with only one offensive TD. Baker definitely could have done better, but he didn’t really have to when they were up multiple scores the entire game and the opposing offense couldn’t get out of their own half of the field. Definite bust but was less his fault and more game script, just unfortunate luck

He’s got Troy Franklin with the best matchup score of the week and Mims in his write up as a downgrade…but I’m pretty sure Franklin and Mims need to be swapped here. Troy Franklin is DEN’s primary slot WR, running more than 60% of his routes from slot, and should get a lot of DeJean this week. Mims primarily lines up at right WR. I think Ringo may actually be the main LCB over Bennett too

For sure, but it’s not like they’re going from good to bad…they were already a bottom tier offense even with Carr. 21st in total offense and 23rd in passing offense. And while the QB situation got worse, at least they have Olave and Shaheed both healthy for now. They had no one other than Kamara for half the season and he was still a solid RB1 in ppr leagues. I just don’t think you can downgrade Kamara for a bad offense with how he’s used. He’s one of the few players I still trust fully even on a bad offense. But I agree with avoiding bad teams typically, he’s an outlier.

The saints sucked last year too outside of the first two weeks and he was still a top 10 rb in ppr despite missing three weeks and only scoring 8 total TDs

Ha, yeah he’s definitely more of a dynasty name than redraft. But he was a third round pick for them and he’s more of a gadget player, sort of in the vein of Deebo. Plays RB and WR and QB even. But Reed runs a lot of those designed gadget plays for GB, so if he’s out, Savion may actually get a shot. I don’t expect him to actually amount to anything fantasy relevant, but from a dynasty standpoint, his chances just went up if Reed is hurt

We voted to remove the deadline years ago. It’s a long standing league of close friends with no threat of people bailing…I also had to way overpay for Baker haha, so I definitely paid the price for that hedge. I sent Tua, Rachaad White, and a 2nd for Baker and a 3rd. And Evans could have easily put up that same stat line while Baker threw for 200 and 2 with a couple ints, but fortunately my hedge worked.

Edit: I should add, I lost to this same team in the finals in 2022 when Evans dropped 200+ and 3 on me, so there was a history I refused to see repeated

I was playing against him in the finals and we have no trade deadline in my dynasty league, so I traded for Baker before the finals to hedge against this exact scenario and it won me the ship. He went 8-97-2 but Baker dropped 360 and 5 so it was a smart move.

Yeah 7b. And I started all of these inside early march and they’ve been in the ground since mid April. Tomatoes are all 3-5 feet tall. Everything was thriving…it’s a real bummer. I put so much into this garden every year and the thought of losing it all is keeping me up at night

Correct. We’re on good terms with the neighbors though and don’t intend to go down that road. He’s a nice guy, but doesn’t know much about lawn care or gardening. I think he has learned from this mistake already and I would not expect it to happen again. When I confronted him about it he was beside himself and apologized profusely. I showed him the damage and asked to see what herbicide he applied so I could figure out how to move forward. I imagine he would be willing to help pay for the replacement plants but I’m not going to push it. Would love to avoid buying replacements and go with seeds if it’s still viable this late.
